Anyone see the replays on youtube? I think the NHL has taken all that off by now, but early this morning was gruesome! Soo much blood on the ice even before he falls down!

I couldn't believe the two articles I saw on this didn't have any reference to Clint Malarchuk, especially since he was a Sabre.

This is a very scary accident. It's hard to imagine how close this was to being so much worse. I'm glad everyone responded quickly and things appear to be under control. Best of luck to Zednik in his recovery and hopeful return.

I couldn't believe the two articles I saw on this didn't have any reference to Clint Malarchuk, especially since he was a Sabre.

Don't watch if you're squeamish...


Malarchuk was counting after his injury according to Craig Ramsey. He had heard he had 3 minutes to live after he was cut. He kept saying 2 minutes, 1 minute, 30 seconds. Has to be scary.

I met Malarchuk at Frank Costellos athletic training facility in Crofton almost a year before that happened. He played for the Caps back then.
