Thanks for posting that. I'm a huge wrestling fan. I hope DSU turns it around. It would suck if their program suffers the same fate as UD's.xnonono2x

So many schools have lost wrestling programs due to the interpretation of Title IX. It really hits HBCUs hard, because HBCUs tend to have female enrollments that are at least double, sometimes ten times that of the male enrollment.

Wrestlings biggest hope may be the emergence of women's wrestling. It's an Olympic Sport now. If schools start offering men's and women's program the sport may make a comeback.

Sorry to hear about DSU's problem...The Title IX interpretations are usually excuses to drop the sport rather than taking a stand to save it. Especially if they're looking for more money for some other , ahem, sport..like trying to upgrade football to BCS. Football is the most cost intensive sport there is with all the equipment, number of coaches, etc.
