So what do you think, Joe? Any evaluations of this class up there at Rose Hill?

I notice there are no Anthracite boys this year! You got one Pittsburgh-area kid, which is always good. One Philly-area kid too.

Lotta kids from outside the northeast U.S.

Wagner has had good success recruiting out of Gulliver Prep, including Rick Sarille, our career rushing leader. Good luck. xthumbsupx

Obviously, I have never seen any of the recruits play. I've seen some highlight reels, but they are highlight reels.

That being said, it looks like a very solid class.

(1) 13 of the 16 play OL and DL, and many have size. This seems to address our biggest need. Our guys played gutsy against UMass in the FCS playoffs, but the UMass lines really pushed our guys around.

(2) We continue to recruit well locally under Masella. Some nice grabs
from New Jersey and Long Island.

(3) We are going more national in our scope, and continue to do well in big-time football areas like Florida and Texas. Because of how big high school football is in those areas, you can often land some well-coached players who arrive with skills already highly developed.

(4) Taaffe's father is a well-known football coach who has worked as an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Maryland. Probably Skelton's successor. You can't go wrong grabbing the coach's son.

(5) Jamir Livingston is going to see action as a freshman. He had an offer from Army. He's small but has blinding speed. With some size, he could be going real big time. He is exactly the type of RB who has had success in the PL. He will also have some horses to block for him. On the tapes I've seen, this guy is gone if you give him some room.

(6) We might have a worthy successor to Benjamin Dato in Cameron Dean -- ranked as one of the top 20 punters nationally.

WOW! Some defensive players from TX, some offensive players from FL. I'd say you guys did very well for yourselves.
