Jackrabbits add 19 for football

South Dakota State University football coach John Stiegelmeier announced Wednesday that 19 high school standouts have signed a National Letter of Intent or been accepted for admission, indicating they will enroll at SDSU in the fall and compete for the Jackrabbit football program.

“We are excited for two reasons,” Stiegelmeier said. “First of all, recruiting is intense for both the student-athletes and our staff, so the end is welcome. Secondly, the end is very special when we are able to welcome into our program a class of student-athletes like this. In this signing class, we have added all the ingredients we had hoped for our program. They will be an important factor in South Dakota State University football’s pursuit of excellence.”

I have been wondering, North and South Dakota have seemed to be pretty quiet durring the recruiting process. Congrats on a good class.

We grad. 4 starters on Offense (WR, TE, RT, and LG)
We grad. 5 starters on Defense (NT, LB, 2 CBs, and SS)
We also grad. our Kicker.

With all that said we feel pretty good about our situation! xthumbsupx :D

Agreed here. My only question mark at all is the defensive backfield, but I think we have some young guys who can step up this year.

Our linebacking and defensive lines will be as good or better this year. Could be a dominant defense.

Have some holes to plug on offense in losing Wagner, Koenig, Erickson, etc., but I'm excited for a few of the young players coming up there as well. This year's RsFR will the first class from SDSU being at a full 63 schollies and will have some impact players on it.

Can't wait for the season to start, really looking forward to that Iowa St. game!
