This year’s Army-Navy Game should be an interesting contest with both the Cadets and Midshipmen having good teams.

I’m sort of disappointed I almost definitely won’t be attending this year’s game; after going to the game in 2015, I made a pact with myself that I’d try to attend anytime the game was played near my neck of the woods (DC area) and I didn’t have a sports-related conflict. But secondary market tickets are more than I care to pay for a game in which I have no rooting interest, even one that really is more of an event + game (based on my experience at the 2015 game) than merely a game.

In D2, Ferris State and Valdosta State look like they are on a championship game collision course, but as some people like to say, they play the games for a reason.

In D3, the field looks very open. It should be noted two of the teams that played in the first round of the expanded 40 team field, Bethel and Mary Hardin-Baylor, have advanced to the quarterfinals. (I’ve long advocated for the D3 field to expand from 32 to 48 teams, and this year’s results with the 40 team field show expansion was probably a good (though overdue) idea.

It will be interesting to see the TV numbers breakdown for Incarnate Word/South Dakota State and Jackson State/South Carolina State in a few days.

Hopefully many of Saturday games are more competitive than Friday night's blowout!

As for D3, Wesley College of Dover, De was absorbed by Delaware State several years ago and this has given Salisbury State a little boost. I don't think they will beat Mt Union, but I'll have this one on.

Mount Union (OH) at Salisbury (MD), 12:00 PM (ESPN+)
