If true, time for some reconsideration of the Patriots' "dynasty."

Arlen Specter (R-PA) was interviewed the other day and there may be further inquiries by Congress in light of the NFL's anti-trust exemption. He made some comments about the same suspicion as to the pre-game versus the Eagles.

I understand where he is coming from, but no one will take him seriously since he is a die hard eagles fan. On second thought, how cool would it be that once you reach Congress you use your power to help your favorite sports franchise!!

A lot of it hinges on the fact that the Patriots were dumb enough to get caught and also that they are going through this process right now where as the Cowboys did it a decade ago so it actually has a bearing on the present.

Ah, heck, I'm no hater. Just a teaser -- although you know who has not weighed in yet.

Belichick is a cheater, though, and this no doubt will taint his legacy.

No member of the 1996, 1998, 1999 or 2000 Yankees -- other than Roger Clemens, who made insigificant contributions to the 1999 and 2000 teams -- used steroids during those years. To the extent any member of those teams were implicated in the Mitchell Report (nine were), the others were implicated for use starting in 2001 or later, and in many instances after they left the Yankees.

As for Clemens, his use of HGH/steroids while a Yankee allegedly started in 2001, according to the Mitchell Report.

The Yankees' problem is that since 2000, certain other teams have benefitted from the contributions of marginal players who overnight were transformed into some of the most feared hitters in the game --cough, cough David Ortizxsmiley_wix

Looking at the public record, the Yankees were the last of the non-PED champions.

Poor Andy Pettitte. The guy took two HGH shots while on the DL, and then thought better of it -- and you say he as a big a cheater as let's say, David Ortiz.:p

You know what is funny-- Red Sox fans I am friends with...and believe me, they are hardcore, all expected Ortiz to be implicated. I mean these fans are uber Yankee haters...and the epitome of Red Sox Nation.

Anyway, about an hour before the report comes out they brought up a before and after pick of Ortiz for me-- Even I WAS SHOCKED at the size differential.

My friends were shocked even more than I was when they heard Ortiz somehow escaped the report. To them, however, more shocking was an unnamed certain catcher-- If you have never been around the man, you cant begin to imagine his size.

Ortiz escaped because Angel Presinal, his trainer, would not talk. Presinal gave a statement to the Mitchell Commission saying he had no knowledge or information about steroid/HGH use in baseball. This was an obvious lie -- Presinal was caught at a Canadian airport in 2002 traveling with a bag of steroids. The bag was confiscated but Presinal was not charged.

If that had happened in the US, though, some AUSA could have threatened Presinal to talk under threat of an indictment.

What is mystifying is that Mitchell conducted no further investigation regarding Presinal after Presinal offered his statement to the Committee. Of course, if you suggest that Mitchell possessed a conflict of interest and this might have contributed to his willingness to leave the Presinal trail cold, Boston fans call you a lunatic and a nut job.

New York fans can't stand seeing Boston win (over and over again) it's so painful...
so when given the chance to pile on... xlolx

The Giants can make up for a lot of bad feelings and emotional heart ache today with a win...

This should be a good game

No, live in New York. Main work office is New Jersey.

Although my house is about a nine iron from Mahwah.

This is the view, BTW, of the greatest city in the world from the highest point of Suffern. Pretty darn cool.

Actually former head of Judiciary (but still ranking minority member)..Sen Pat Leahy (D, VT) is the head. Control changed in 2007 after the Dems won the Senate in 2006. So Dane, is Vermont Patriot territory? Actually, Leahy and Spector are good friends.

Travis is a great, great fan and I admire his passion for his hometown teams. What fun is sports if you can't have a little fun with fans of the opponents?

Pitchers and catchers report soon.
