OMFG the coaches aren't even trying anymore. Of Butler's 8 wins, 1 is against a D2 team and 2 are against D3 teams. Their 1 OOC FCS win was against Murray State (who have only beaten MVSU), and the teams they've beaten in conference have won zero D1 games OOC. And not that either of them should be ranked, but Butler is somehow ranked ahead of a Drake team that beat them 27-17 a few weeks ago?? This poll needs to be abolished.

Drake is 6-0 in the Pioneer. Butler is two games behind.

Either someone is getting their Bulldogs confused, or Butler's coach has a lot of buddies voting in the poll. Maybe both.

It really is a joke. Call me silly, but I would wager Chatty beats the 6 teams above them without much doubt. And competes against the next 10. Duquesne is a stretch to be in, but I would not argue greatly. Butler is ridiculous, 129/129 Massey SOS, dead last. I won't argue hard against SC ST being in, but Jackson St with their 119/129 Massey SOS is just wrong. RI got punished a bit harshly.

They need to provide justification for a lot of these.

Most coaches either aren't voting, look at "straight" records, or grossly discount conference strength. I wouldn't be shocked at the final reason. I know from my time in the NEC; the coaches there always talked up how tough the league was and disregarded any data that said otherwise.

I am a bit shocked Butler, Duquesne, and SC State are ranked yet Lehigh is not ORV at this point.

Sc State has a really good team under first year HC; I think they will get better in year 2. They definitely passes the eye test…BTW, one of our safeties is a Lehigh transfer (Logan Jones).
