This week's poll article: https://thefcswedge.com/ags-poll/ags-poll-week-11-top-25-results-6/
Pretty good effort I'd say - not finding much to be too critical of. I'm not so sure about Duquesne making it into the consensus top 25 but good to have a little variety as they're the first NEC team to make the top 25 since they did it in week 7 of 2021 and before that week there had been no NEC team in the top 25 since CCSU had a run of them in 2019.
UND had a top 25 streak snapped at 34 - that had been the 6th longest active streak behind NDSU (now at 198), SDSU (154), Montana (54), Montana St (54), and Incarnate Word (48). Idaho at 32 moves into the 6th longest active top 25 streak spot.

I missed SOS in this thread, but FUBeAR, your assumption is that Mercer and North Dakota State both win their 2nd round games, and that Chattanooga and East Tennessee State win their first round games to even get the abridged matchups you merged from CB's post...then you mention SOS completely out of any sort of context with respect to this.
Yep, we get it. SOS = S*** on SoCon. So, I am not here to debate this. I am here to ask what FUBeAR's playoff matchups would be. I mean, the AGS poll and (fortunately/unfortunately?) the STATS and FCS Coaches polls (and even the one that matters, the Selection Committee's top 10 release) would potentially result in not too dissimilar matchups, right? So, where are we (AGS), the coaches (or their flunkies), the sportswriters, and the Selection Committee getting it wrong? More importantly, why are we ALL getting it wrong? Education is important, and perhaps educating the masses might actually SOS ("help") the masses.

LOL - referenced in another thread that “Same old ****” as what “Strength of Schedule” actually is/does.
FUBeAR is not a fan of circular logic, self fulfilling, voodoo math “Strength of Schedule” calculations and has spent years “educating the masses” here about its overarching impact on Playoff Selections, Seeding (byes/relative competition-levels), Home/Away Locations, and Playoff results…which then ‘re-load’ to the voodoo…and repeat. Y’all don’t wanna hear it, cuz you like the status quo. Makes perfect sense.
Not disputing your bracket. All good.
It is what it is…and as long as the voodoo SoS carries the weight it currently does, it always will be.
FUBeAR does like the SOS = **** On SoCon acronym you developed though. That certainly works too.

I do agree on the circular argument of strength of schedule…to a point. But let’s not completely kid ourselves. There is a reason why schedules are not perceived to be equal. Doing so is how you get Butler ranked in the Coaches’ Poll. SOS cannot be the only metric, or even the major metric, in my opinion. However, I am pretty sure most of the top 8 are likely a very, very close representation of the top 8. If we ignore SOS, what are some (any?) reasons why the masses have it wrong? While I can and do appreciate your perspective, it cannot rest on SOS alone, can it? I’ll shut up and listen.

Correct, but the…
“FUBeAR SoS -> SOS Theorem” (TM Pending)
…is completely underpinned by SoS and Confirmation Bias / Motivated Reasoning.
No need to listen. FUBeAR drew a picture for y’all to ignore and/or claim is fake news.

so this is why Weber St, who lost to both Lamar

Tennessee State is 7 places ahead of SC State. . . but they have common opponents. Check the scoreboard.
And SCSU has a win over a team with a winning record. They should be closer, and arguably, SCSU should be ahead.
That being said, I need SCSU to lose their next two games. :)

1. 😂😂😂 That ain’t happening..
2. SC State resume is better than TSU’s & Vegas would open with TSU as the dog. They lost to a common opponent (Tenn Tech) & we also played HU. Also beat a ranked, good NCCU team. Run back that FAMU game where we had a 11 point lead in the 4th & our only lost would be to FBS GA Southern…

SOS … yep, WE know what it stands for…
▄ ▄ ▄ ▄▄▄ ▄▄▄ ▄▄▄ ▄ ▄ ▄
During the 1830s and 1840s, American artist and inventor Samuel Morse developed the telegraph, an electrical system that uses a series of wires to transmit messages over long distances.
What Does SOS Stand For?But what does SOS actually stand for? One common misconception is that SOS stands for ''Save Our Ship'' or ''Save Our Souls.'' However, this is not the case. SOS was never intended to be an acronym and has no direct translation. Instead, the letters S and O were selected due to their distinctiveness and simplicity. SOS is easy to recognize and transmit in emergency situations and does not resemble any other code or signal.

Sagarin also still has SUU at 145 and UCA at 152, while he has us at 156. I haven't looked too highly at his ratings much this year or last. Now, he has Tarleton at 136. We'll see about that on Saturday.

I’m planning on watching lots of your game and hoping you knock Tarleton off

I went to Keesler to train on communications - the World Wide Military Command and Control System. I think late 1990, just before Desert Storm.

Yeah, but they have a serious bias for the Ivies. For as long as I've viewed the Sag ratings, about 41 years, they always have. Probably due to their greater schedule insolation. But who knows what hidden sauce is in the algorithm.
