There’s Thomas Lloyd III, a senior nose guard at Hurst L.D. Bell, and Tevin, a sophomore who plays baritone in the school band.
Thomas has invited his best friend, Bell senior running back DeAnte Piper, to his home as the family celebrates Tevin’s 15th birthday.
The parents, Michelle and Thomas Jr., relax in the company of their children and the simple comforts of home.
The Lloyd family is close-knit, especially since it arrived in the area in August 2005.
Hurricane Katrina ripped through Violet, a community about 13 miles east of New Orleans, and swallowed the Lloyds’ home. Thomas Jr. even watched it happen.
