Are they choke jobs is it just the fact that these teams are very good. The Tarleton loss doesn’t surprise me at all, they have been dodging bullets all year. The UCA loss is an epic fail to a really bad football team.

UCA fans see an opportunity for this head coach and his staff to move on. Seriously. Can you imagine having the RBs we have, the receivers and defensive players we have....and screwing it all up with the coaching we have??? Pathetic. It's time for a change. Now. There was absolutely NO reason to lose that game. None. Not with this team.

Here's a fun hyothetical:

Tarleton beats ACU and loses to UCA to finish 9-3 (6-2)
ACU loses to Tarleton and beats SFA to finish 8-4 (6-2)
EKU beats APSU and UNA to finish 8-4 (6-2)
SUU beats UCA and Utah Tech to finish 7-5 (6-2)

Who's the auto? Who get a playoff at-large? Who gets left out?

The league should have a published tiebreaker policy, but I can not find it on their website.

The league should have a published tiebreaker policy, but I can not find it on their website.
I'm guessing Tarleton would get the auto in that scenario. I'm thinking the first meaningful 4-team tie breaker would be record against each other. Tarleton and ACU would be 2-1 vs their fellow co-champs whereas EKU and SUU would be 1-2 vs their fellow co-champs so that would narrow it down to Tarleton and ACU and the head-to-head win by Tarleton would break that final tie.

ACU is guaranteed to be the auto if they beat Tarleton this Saturday but if Tarleton wins it sure seems like they'd take care of a lot of tie breakers for the auto even if they lost to UCA in week 13 although I suppose there are some 3 way tie breakers they'd lose (and they'd lose a head-to-head tie breaker with EKU if it came down to that).

and back in the day, when kids turned on the TV on Saturday afternoon college football was the only choice, no wonder older guys like it so much. The younger generation has way to many options and it's a shame :)

Yes and no. ESPN+ is still strictly streaming AND an additional subscription that many people do not have. It is still at a different level, and smaller viewer share, than cable or mainstream TV. That would be more like CBS/ABC/ESPN. Does Ohio State play on ESPN+? No, why? Because it is indeed different, smaller. Yes, ESPN+ is perfectly appropriate for FCS games, but the bigger stations do pic certain FCS games up (yes, slot fillers usually) when they are needed or good enough. I think the Tarleton/ACU game is indeed good enough to be broadcast on a bigger channel. To be honest, I think the UC Davis/Montana St. game is as well. I think some of these late season conference championship games should be seen by a wider audience. I am a minority view. Millions of people still watch sports over the air or cable/satellite, and not just streaming.

You're talking about forgoing having the game on ESPN+ for having the game broadcast on a local UHF station? My guy, there are 25 million ESPN+ subscribers which is more than the entire audiences of the top 5 on-air TV markets in the US combined. If you're looking at having potential audience eyeballs on your school and on your program, ESPN+ is a far better platform and has greater reach than the vast majority of college football programs -- at any level -- could ever hope to achieve otherwise. Ohio State is a bad example but, if it came down to the question, I'm sure that the Buckeyes would happily take being on ESPN+ over having their game on the local Columbus MyTV station.

That's not it at all. When Ohio state, or any P5, big G5 game gets broadcast on CBS/ABC/Fox/ESPN... It gets broadcast out via cable or satellite network directly to their subscribers nationwide. ESPN+ is usually not a part of that. ESPN+, like Flo, is a separate and additional layer of subscription. It is not direct. I know that you understand that. So, the viewership is much more direct and larger. With ESPN+, yes, you have 25+ whatever subscribers but you only have a very fraction of that amount clicking on each event. It has nothing to do with "local TV" because that local TV is being broadcast out via cable to millions of viewers beyond "Columbus". It gets broadcast to CBS nationwide, ABC Nationwide, Fox Nationwide, etc.... Again, I know you understand this but you didn't recognize it. Again, yes ESPN+ is nationwide, but again, it is another separate level of subscription and the subscribers only see the event they click on, which is a HUGE selection at any given time, so the actual audience is a fraction. So, NO, Ohio State (our example) would NEVER choose ESPN+ above national broadcasting. That is the difference with streaming. You can stream on TV but streaming on TV is not national broadcasting on TV where a much bigger and broader audience views fewer choices. Hmmmmmm, that's kinda why the P5s are fighting for those broadcasting rights to begin with............ Again, I know you know this and why this discussion is beyond incomprehensible.

Yes, wild isn't? Crazy to nationally televise a FCS conference championship game and not just a playoff game or National Championship game. Of course I said others beyond this one game. Heck, I think it would be cool to nationally televise one FCS Game of the Week, but I don't want to take too much money away from the networks.

With the auto bid now secure, does ACU rest, or limit some key players during the SFA game, for the playoffs?

I also wonder if starting QB Sam Vadlak is good to go for the Jacks, and if he is does Carthel stay with backup Gavin Rutherford to finish out the season and not risk further or more serious injury to his starter's shoulder, going into the off season, as SFA does return everybody on offense in 2025. (of course the portal will have something to say about that)

We will see.

I have asked myself this question. We got banged up during the Tarleton game. No players out that I know of, but KP may want to rest some key players. I also see us wanting to end the regular season on a win, so don't know how much play gets spread around. I would expect SFA to try and get a signature win against us, so who knows what will happen come Saturday.

Yep, and DL David Oke as well I hear. Maverick doesn't surprise me. As long as Haggart sticks around, we'll be ok. He just needs to mature and get field time. I think we are going to have to fill several key spots.
