HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 29, 2024) ... Freshman linebacker Michael Matthews-Canty was named the Coastal Athletic Association's Rookie of the Week for his performance in Hampton's 44-21 victory over Elon on October 26. The Fredericksburg, Va., native registered five tackles in the win as Hampton improved to 5-3 on the season. The dominant Pirate defense limited the Phoenix to just six first downs and minus-28 yards rushing with 168 yards total offense.
