With half the conference taking the weekend off, only three games are on the schedule. After coming off a perfect week last week, I am now at 54-14, and with only three games, I should be able to get another perfect week under my belt. But, the games still need to be played and the matchups are truly intriguing. Here are my predictions for this week.

EWU at UI---The Eagles are coming off a tough loss at home to one of the heavyweights and get another heavyweight on the road this time. The Vandals are looking to recover some consistency, after falling behind early against one of the cellar dwellers last week. Still, they rallied last week and this is at home...UI 42, EWU 24.

UM at UNC---The two Bears in the conference and the two that took last weekend off. The Grizzlies took some time to find their defense which seems to have gone AWOL, while the Browns are just trying to keep things close and win it at the end. The Grizzlies should get this, but it may be close...UM 31, UNC 21.

SAC at ISU---The Hornets finally broke through last week, working overtime to secure a conference win, and now go on the road to the Bengals' barn, where the Bengals have been running hot and cold all year. On paper, the Hornets should get this and jumpstart their season, but the Bengals could give them fits...SAC 38, ISU 34.

MSU, Weber, UC Davis, NAU, CP, and PSU on a bye this weekend, so only 3 games on tap. For 2 of them the higher ranked team is on the road.

UM 37 @ NC 17 --- UM coming off of a bye and NC from a bye and a road win over Weber who had just beat UM in Missoula.
Transitive rule says NC should win, but UM is the better team and Hauck has a record of improving the UM team as the season progresses.

Sac 34 @ 32 ISU --- Sac still has a shot at the playoffs, but this is a road game against an improved Bengal team. This could come down to who has the ball last.

EWU 32 @ 35 Idaho ---Home field advantage takes the W, but the Eagles could make it interesting.

UM 41 @ UNC 20 - Montana should be able to score at will. Bears will also score (but nowhere near enough) on a Montana defense that surprisingly ranked in the bottom half of the conference.
Sac St 31 @ ISU 28 - Sac's back is against the wall for a playoff berth. I don't think they make it with their remaining schedule, but the hopes don't end this weekend.
EWU 24 @ UI 30 - Idaho has a bit more wiggle room with their playoff aspirations, needing only 3 of 4 to give them a resume that should get them in (leaning heavily on that win over Wyoming). This is the classic unstoppable force vs the immovable object, with EWU having a high powered offense (what else is new) and the Vandals being one of the better defenses in the conference. Conversely, EWU can't stop anyone, but UI's offense is no juggernaut, with a ppg only better than Poly and NoCo (and barely more than Poly). Defense and home field win the day.

EWU 27-38 Idaho — The Vandal D has slipped the last couple weeks, but it still has a looooonngg way to go to reach the depths of the EWU defense

Sac State 42-38 Idaho St. — Every game from here-on-out is likely a must-win for the Hornets

Montana 34-16 NoCo — The Bear offense with their starting quarterback is probably on-par with NAU's offense with their 3rd. string QB

2-1 this week, puts me at 56-15. Still not bad.
