Sorry to the NON-CAA folks and I guess even The CAA folks that do not care about this game, this is more of a lure for C-HEN and Mr. Chicken..

I will start with this- and the first question of the post goes to My Hen from Puerto Rico:

Who is this guy FanSinceHighSchool? Did he even graduate HS?

"Lots of love for Delaware (sarcasm) at that other site. Definitely I won't miss MUHAWKS' ramblings. Either win or lose, it could be a real shoot out."

"Definitely I wont miss"!!!

I take it you saw your post I reposted over on Gohens.net ? Giving you all the credit

People asked for info on Monmouth and who better to provide that than yourself

Get on Gohens if you want to chat with the poster you mentioned

Oh I signed up.. with 2 different handles-- both legit- still have not been "confirmed" which I do understand to keep the spam out I guess..But sort of not, since I could get confirmed and still go and act like a dik or be selling my winning lotto ticket from Nigeria.. Yes I did see it- thank you, LOL-- I go back and forth between thinking Carty is an arrogant little prik and then sort of loving him at the same time.. Unfortunately, I think "he gets it"- in a good way- after listening to this weeks CAA presser I sort of adore him,,

just like any coach, as long as Carty wins his arrogance is fine

what was the best line he had on the coaches show?

Its just the way he talks and how he sounds that is funny (in a likeable way- not arrogant) in terms of the call this week. Wouldn't say there was "one" line- he is just honest and funny and he legitimately thinks its fun and good to go play good teams (not saying we are one but on paper we are).. Called us the best offense in the country. also he is just funny at times when he does not even mean to be funny for example "So obviously you are familiar with Robertson from his time at Maine" and then he is like "I am actually not familiar with him.. like i mean I don't think we played Maine, did we play Maine"?? It was just funny. THe best line I guess would be when the MU beat reporter said " so you are a central jersey guy" and ryan said "I am glad you said central jersey bc it IS a thing and I am one " I am sure YOU get the joke but NJ people make the fallacy of calling that area "south" jersey as soon as you get to like exit 117 on parkway..

to me, Asbury Park is north Jersey, I called it that last year and of course you corrected me, Hey I lived in Cape May for 9 weeks so anything north of that is north Jersey to me

I think one of your boys might of mentioned you on gohens by the way, at least when read a post made by Bluehen, I said to myself he must be talking about MUHAWKS.... said he was flying in to attend game and had a hommie about 10 minutes from the stadium

saw that- not me- I live 70 miles North in Bergen County NJ- Man I love that ride. 8 am departures in the Fall as the leaves are changing- music pumping- believe it or not more often than not I see fellow Hawks on the drive down the Garden State Parkway- As soon as I get over the bridge around 125 I feel I am on my "approach" and then drive into the Lot there is nothing like it. Small and intimate yes, but I believe the Hen Faithful that attend for the first time will enjoy. Too bad no beer garden this week, we had one for the first 2 and it went over very well. Anyway that is not my buddy bubt impressed someone flying in for this..

The unranked Hawks for some reason are 1.5 favorites against the would be top 10 Hens.. Line opened Del as 1.5 faves and immediately moved

Oh yea, the boulevard of broken dreams is a long and lonely road, The only one that Monmouth has ever known

I forgot the rest of the lyrics. Haha you have a very long memory if you remember that tune

Well- My thoughts are this- I come out of this game actually thinking LESS of both Delaware and Monmouth, however that may be skewed, b/c maybe The Hens are really good and maybe we are a level just below that and the mix just combined for what looked like two NOT ELITE teams playing. I use that in the context of elite like compared to the very top of The FCS. Maybe I am wrong, but who cares. In terms of the game, I thought we held our own upfront on both sides of the ball, more so our O line and I think our skill guys were vastly faster than your D. The Hens are no doubt the more complete and better team, but it is not THAT far apart. Delaware made our very good Offense look "decent to good" - That IMO is not b/c we were overrated on O but b/c Delaware has a good D and like I said, it would be hard for The hens to really shut us down. With that said, The Hens D did exactly what they needed to, forcing 4 punts, a turnover and maybe a turnover on downs where our D was not able to. As it is we were REAL close to tying or even winning that game at the end. I HATE second guessing coaches but 3rd and 3 from the Del 30 ish after sort of gashing you running the ball for a few plays and plenty of time left (1:30 and a timeout) and we throw the ball 2 x-- The job there was to get the first down, PERIOD. especially since going up top and scoring there would leave Del plenty of time to go win. I really did not like our decision to throw the ball 2 x on 3rd and 3 after looking like The DEL D was on their heels-- I thought we let them off the hook a bit there. With that said, Delaware was deeper, better on D and just a bit better. I do NOT think Delaware or Monmouth played great games but maybe it was just b/c they ere playing each other. Yarns is a difference maker and Robertson played his worst game of the year today missing several throws (worst game still not bad).. No excuses, No BS, The Hens were a better team but I do think this bodes well for us going forward - We have a bye then Bryant, Towson, URI, UNH, NOVA and Stony- I think this game and past performance show me may be a level better than URI and UNH and should be able to beat Bryant. Towson IMO is an underrated and scary team however, but I think 3-1 in our net 4 is very doable taking us to 6-4 into NOVA in which if we win would set up MU/Stony for a probable trip to the playoffs on line. I do not think that is a stretch. It was a good college Football game and I like Yarns a lot- Good vision, balance and ability to cut without slowing speed. The long TD catch Mr. Chicken would have scored on so whatever- just a blown D. I liked our ability to hang tough but I will say it one more time, I think the better team won but the gap is probably much tighter than most non in the know Hen fans thought. Was a good game to be at and The Hens travelled well. A decent atmosphere and I am NOT a moral victory person. I am pissed. We are once again (2022) a couple plays away from being 5-1, ranked liked 15th and in real contention for a CAA title and even playoff seed. But instead we are 3-3 and could be a .500 team when it is all over. after Delaware went up 2 scores I think 98% of folks thought the game was over over. Our ability to drive and score, then stop Del on a short field and 4 downs was huge and we drove and were looking like we were going to score- But we failed to execute and Del made the plays needed. A tough loss to get over honestly, but IF we can show up every game, I think we will have a chance to win every game we play. Congrats to Delaware, Carib, Chicken and whoever else. Peace out.

A part of me is thinking Monmouth should run the table now, not a big part of me, but I’m having these thoughts that Monmouth is going to start clicking off some wins…

Thanks Observer- 8 posts in 14 years! It will not happen- at least not anytime soon-The local community is where the new fanbase needs to come from- Students maybe we could get 500 extra but the marginal increase needs to be from locals and it aint happening!
