Florida A&M head football coach Joe Taylor has said repeatedly since being hired three weeks ago that there is no magic to winning a championship.
It does take work, which the Rattlers got to at 5:45 a.m. Monday morning when they officially began offseason workouts.
Taylor said more than 150 scholarship and walk-on hopefuls showed up to the first workout Monday.
"It's good, but it's a shock waking up at 5:45 in the morning," said incoming senior linebacker Vic Arboleda. "It shows commitment to the team and it shows that he (Taylor) means business. It takes effort and hard work to get a championship and that is what he is showing us right now."
