The Bears entertain the hapless Penguins this Saturday licking their chops to improve over a losing record of 17-7 games against YSU. The Bears have lost a close game @ Montana and at FBS Ball St. YSU has looked pathetic in a loss to Duquesne and blowout loss to Pitt, 73-17, while also losing the opener to Villanova.

MoST had an excellent passing game against UT-Martin throwing for 25 of 33 for 388 yds and 3 TDs in a win. Pass D is a huge YSU weakness. Should make for another bumbling game from the Guins. YSU has also showed its incompetency at QB to strike fear in its opponents. MoST trembles at the thought.

Once again, now for decades, the YSU AD has demonstrated his single handed destruction of the former Cadillac football program which has now fallen to a Honda with bald tires level. He recently instituted Heacock 2.0 by extending the contract of his inept football coach to 2028, insuring a leper program for years to come. Many fans won’t be back this year.

MoST is leaving FCS next year for FBS. Expect them to leave hugs and kisses for YSU.

Game notes are out. There are a couple of subtle changes but does little, in my opinion, to alter the dilemma that YSU finds it in.

Heres a quick snapshot- losing almost all its D last year to the portal, YSU made a feeble attempt to cover it over by picking up players from the portal to replace those who left. Keep in mind the YSU D was nationally ranked vs the run while being mediocre on pass D. But the replacements, in a word, mostly SUCKED. They actually gave a schollie to a Power 5 walk on who never played a snap. Recruited players who played less than their own backup players. YSUs terrible H.S. Recruiting was actually better than their portal “recruiting”. In short, the program is a total mess.

We have players in uniform but they aren’t very good. Yep, a couple here or there are pretty good, no question. But now, the MVFC opens this weekend. YSU fans will quickly see what most have no idea what has been going on in the program. Missouri St. is a long time lower half of the MVFC often fighting it out for the basement. That is the opponent.

There are people responsible for putting the YSU program where it is. Pay attention as it should become crystal clear the status of YSU football in the MVFC. For that matter, consider the Wolf beating up on Pitt 31-17 several years ago to the embarrassment 73-17 loss this year. That’s another depth of the fall.

Missouri St. game notes are interesting. Expect them to come out throwing against a porous YSU pass D. MoST QB is a transfer from Minnesota. He ( Clark )currently ranks #4 in FCS in passing yds per game at 301.3. In fact he has had some outstanding games with 6 games over 200 yds a game ( 414, 388, 332, 302, 258, & 257 ).

Expect him to throw to a Soph. WR Robinson who has two 100 yd receiving games ( 119 & 102 )

RB will be a transfer from Kansas St ( Wright ) who has a number of 100 yd rush games. They will throw to him as well.

I look for MoST to score a lot and beat YSU.
