Anybody interested in the AAFL (http://www.allamericanfootballleague.com/index.php)? I'm going to try and catch a couple of games, especially since they're playing 1 game at Ray J.

I think you guys are talking about two different leagues.

AAFL is All American Football - a new league.

I'm going to try and make a couple of games in Knoxville.

Not sure if I will attend a game but I will be checking the draft results to see what kind of FCS representation the league will have.

That'll be interesting to see, rigth now it looks like the Florida team will be mostly ex-Gators. Still it's a chance to catch a football game at a reasonable price.

I was surprised at the number of older players they have listed on their roster. Chris Doehring and Fred Weary etc have been around forever.

Then they have some teams showing up on the schedule that aren't even listed on the website. I am wondering if any of the teams have protection rights over NC schools.

I'm gonna have a blast with this, my wife went to UF with a bunch of those guys. It'll be just like old times. xlolx

what about the rival UFL (mark cuban's league)that is also gonna start. AAFL has lame helmets and don't want to have team names.

I have no idea, there aren't alot of names that I recognize. I'm 50/50 on the league right now. I'll catch the game here in June, hopefully the league will work, you can never have too much football.

That's the main issue I have and I don't want to root for Team Florida (which plays in the Swamp and wears Orange and Blue). xnonono2x

Eric Crouch, what has he been doing the last five years? I don't know whether he would he in shape enough to do it.

He was a receiver on the Rams and quit because of a persistent neck injury

With the NFL, CFL, AFL, AFL2 and now the AAFL & UFL how many more leagues can N.America take on?

Rank
1.NFL
2.CFL
3.AFL
4.AAFL?
5.UFL?
6.AFL2

I say get rid of AFL2 & have the AAFL & UFL combine have a 10 team NFL/CFL minor league that runs in the spring. Kind of like WLAF

He was running his own business in Omaha. I don't know how the level of play will be but most of these guys are in pretty good shape. They had about 3 combines and tryouts.

I think there's room for at least 5. It's gonna be a battle between the AAFL and the UFL. These two leagues seem to be catering to different people but I don't think there'll be room for both.

AFL2 should stay, it's teams mostly play in smaller cities so it's not in competition with any of the other leagues. Most people in the U.S. don't really seem to have an interest in the CFL.

I watch the CFL on the comcast sports channel during the summer until the NFL & NCAA start. then I watch the CFL again at playoff time.

Edmonton Eskimos are my team. Because they look like Green Bay

I watch the CFL also, but I know some people don't like it because the field is longer and the rules are different. I think it's an aquired taste.

you don't like the single/rouge. you better take the punt of miss FG out of the endzone or the other team will get a point. I remember watching a game in the late 80's or early 90's the final was 44-1. Nice!

I always tried to catch a CFL game when they were on, and I followed through the paper. They would publish the scores here in MT, because of Dave Dickenson

Also just a general question... Did these players have to "declare" themselves eligible for this draft?

I wonder if the AAFL players are allowed play in the UFL in the fall or does the UFL get the left over crap that couldn't make the AAFL?

Pete was good in college but developed Stonehands in the Pros. I think the players have to send their transcripts to the league. To be elgible for the league you have to graduate from college.

Hate to bring this from the dead, but my wife recieved some AAFL info in the mail. They're selling ticket packages (http://www.priority.fla.aafl.com/stadium-diagram.php). Cheapest ticket is $23 for a single game.

$23 for one game in Gainesville. It's $39 for all three games there.

For the games in Tampa and Jacksonville, it's just $13 per game.

I do not see people paying over $50 to watch these games, and they want $75 per game for some seats.

Team Texas is charging $13 to $53...

It's Rice Stadium. Unless something has changed or Team Texas is doing something differently, you can pretty much move around that stadium as you please...

Not quite....they left open the caveat "unless we can find a TV deal or alternate funding". So there is still hope.
