Wow!

Not a single vote for a ETSU Team that (by all reports - FUBeAR hasn’t watched the game…yet) outplayed and should have beaten #2.

These “Coaches” never cease to amaze.

Can UNI get a shout out, moving up to #19 on the strength of a Valpo beatdown and eking out a win over a Tommies team that I thought might just lose to its 2nd DII school from SD (held a 3pt lead the entire 2nd half before getting some separation with a TD in the last minute). If UNI is #19, Sioux Falls is apparently at least #15 in FCS since they're 3-0, beat the Tommies by 14 more than UNI and 2 more wins vs teams with scholarships than UNI, albeit DII, but scholarships nonetheless.

Lafayette and Ill State possibly a smidge too high. UIW possibly punished a bit harshly for a 1 score road loss to their #7.

FAMU.... a 1pt win over 1-3 Norfolk St (win was over DII by 5) and a 4 pt win over 1-2 SCSU (win was over Citadel) earned them a #22 spot last week. Then they move up 2 spots after FBS #12 beats them by 47? I guess with teams above them losing, people gotta fill spots but 2 victories by a combined 5 points over teams that beat a DII and a team that was winless last year seems unworthy of being ranked at all.

As I've said previously, after about #15, the SID's don't put ANY effort. Furman higher than WOFFORD?! Wofford's win @ G-W is looking better and better, with G-W having lost to JMU by just 7 and losing to Charlotte going for the win with a 2pt conversion with 2 minutes left to play. They also won @ Richmond, who just thumped the Chuck South team that beat Furman. I'm also 99.9999% sure they are voting for Delaware, not Delaware State, since Wagner "only" got 6 votes (should be 0, but I digress) and Wagner whooped Delaware State. The same person voting for Murray State must be the person who gave Butler, with it's 2pt road victory over Murray State and blowouts over a DII and DIII schools, its 2 pts.

Hey, I thought I was seeing things, but Lehigh got 6 votes in the ORV category!! When was the last time we got any votes in any poll? 7 years ago? We don't deserve any votes at this stage. We are not "back", but we are certainly improved and a whole new culture is developing on South Mountain. I agree that the "Coaches' Poll" is worthless. I'd like to see WHICH coaches actually voted as opposed to their SIDs, etc.

Oh to be such a big fish in a little pond

Quick search of previous MSU schedules show football powers like Black Hills State, Western OR, Fort Lewis, Wagner, and Stetson. MSU spends more on Gatorade and tape than UNIs budget.

Not sure what MSU's opponents from years prior has to do with UNI's current ranking. So... you apparently agree that UNI is the 19th best team in FCS based on their performance so far, which is how polls are done, not whether or not some other team in the past has played Stetson or how much $$ is in their budget. UNI has 2 wins against non-scholly teams, one of which lost to a DII by 21 points and UNI struggled to put them away. You're free to your own opinion. It's just not a top 20 resume, in MY opinion.

agree on my ISUr ... but we are dealing with a lot of key injuries:

.. 4 preseason All Americans. 3 injured against Iowa, 1 was nursing since camp. Now 2 are out of season (RB Blakemore/King and OL Zambrano), DE/Edge Abdullah hasn't played since Q3 against Iowa .. he might be back in couple weeks. WR Sobkowicz has been very limited reps since Iowa.
.. 3 other key starters .. FR all american Niekamp has been limited reps all season, though finally might be back. Lost starter WR Kasper to mono before Iowa (out 1 month). Lost starting DT Steffen (WIU transfer) for entire season, the week before Iowa game.

Got others guys banged up like most teams, but to lose so many key starters/studs has been very disruptive. 3 are out for season, hoping to get the other 4 back to full speed by game 5 against Bison when MVFC play opens for us.

The waterboy might actually have a clue. It's probably the Women's Studies department chair.
