Just checking in over here to see what the conversation is regarding NIL and revenue. It's been 10 years since Ga Southern and App State made the move together. The SoCon is a very different place and the Sun Belt got a lot better. GS made 2 extremely poor hires and lost a lot. It's really tough getting old school supporters to understand NIL. I can share that we have a fund and we pay key players across all sports but it's really just a stipend between $500-1000 per month for retention. We don't have enough to use it as a recruiting tool except for filling in from the portal. I think we can all agree the NCAA settlement is ridiculous in forcing G5 and FCS schools to "pay" when almost none of our players could've made much from their NIL.
It's truly amazing and the height of hypocrisy that the NCAA, Universities, and the NCAA are ALL IN with DEI while simultaneously putting their jackboots on the throats of programs that aren't part of the Elitist Oligarchy. With MW schools joining the PAC, I truly hope the Dakota schools and Montana's join the MW. It's past time.
