What an arrogent A-Hole!

Listening to him on Mike and Mike right now and still not giving the Pats any props. Calling the Pats the "second best team" in NFL history, behind his Dolphins. Sorry dude but the Pats would KILL your Dolphins.

Pats are not even the second best right now. They need to win the Super Bowl first. :p

I agree. The 85 Bears are the best. xnodx xnodx xnodx Top O/D. The Dolphins would not have had enough players left healthy by halftime.

Someone needs to teach him law of averages and probability. It is easier to go 17-0 than 19-0.

That's common sense. That gets in the way of his argument.

I'd go with the 49ers of the 1980's as the best.

I'll take defense over offense.

I'll agree with this Bears fan. xpeacex

The Bears took 15 yard personal fouls and would level a player after the play just to put that fear into them. They would do the same thing this time and they wouldn't score much.

Nothing new.

Morris is just the latest off that Miami team that won't ever give another team credit.
All of them say shat like this whenever someone get's close to the perfect season. xnodx

I dunno they did get 10 on them in SB XX and that wasnt a very good offensive Patriots team.

The 1972 Dolphins had two 1000 yard rushers in 14 games played. And they went undefeated with a BACKUP quarterback (Earl Morrall) starting in over half of their games. Teams knew they were going to run and still couldn't stop them. I'd love to see New England try to go undefeated with Vinny Testaverde running the offense.

Since he's no longer selling cocaine day-to-day, M2 needs a new way to get his name out there i guess.

It seems pretty straight forward to me:
Patriots win the game they tie the for the highest winning percentage in a season and run the table. If they lose to the Giants, it's all moot and the Dolphins retain that 1.000 average as the only undefeated team to win a Super Bowl. Patriots favored by 13...M2 should wait until the game is actually played.

Wow, I didn't realize we had a member of the '72 Dolphins on the board. ;)

Just saying. ;)

I just get tired of the media overblowing everything that is currently happening with hyperbole and superlatives. The words "greatest" and "ever" are thrown around really liberally. It's just funny that they ask these player/analysts about the greatest team ever and they dismiss the 1972 Dolphins so easily... which I guess is easy to do since they weren't even born in time to see them play.

You're right, assuming the 2007 Patriots win in two weeks they will have earned the right to be one of only two NFL teams to finish undefeated. Forget Spygate. Forget asterisks. And if it shuts up Mercury Morris, then they will have done the world a favor.

I still think the 1989 49ers is the greatest collection of talent on offense and defense.

I agree...we have to do something to shut up Morris... xlmaox

Now, which team is the "greatest"???

Right now, IMHO, its the Patriots...

Overall...difficult to say since the circumstances are different between eras...the salary cap...more teams...longer schedules...etc...

I will give props to the 85 Bears as one of, if not the greatest, single-season teams...

The current Pats...the 49ers...the Cowboys...the Steelers...all won multiple championships and kept their winning ways going for a numbers of years...

I say the greatest comes from that list...but since they can't suit up and play each other, it comes down to opinion...xrulesx

To be fair, the Dolphins did win again in 1973, and 2 titles in a row isn't too shabby xnodx

I say 1. 1989 49'ers 2. 1985 Bears 3. 1984 49'ers

three best teams I've ever seen. If the Pats win I might have to put them at #1

size and speed of the players now would kill the players of the 70's. Earl Morrall wouldn't have been able to stay with Miami if they were playing now. That is like saying Hasselbeck could still be the backup to Favre. If you're a good Backup QB chances are you'll start for a different team soon.

That's where discussing different era's does not work. Give NE the training and workout routines from 1972, or the Dolphins the training and workout routines from 2007 and the perception changes. It's like comparing Indy 500 winners, the technology changes fog the comparision.

Really? A 38 year-old QB who hadn't thrown over 200 passes in a season for four years wouldn't be a backup these days? I'd hate to see you run a franchise if you believe that. xlolx

I thought the Vinny corollary was a better example since they're closer in age/experience.

I'm not old enough to know that he didn't throw 200 passes in 4 years:D

Testaverde was still good at 38. I'm sure he threw more than 200 passes the 4 years prior

all my fantasy football trophies show that I can run a franchise;)

Yes, but with that same time machine, Larry, Bob, Merc and the fins could go back in time and terminate the Patriot players before they grew up.
