It's time to see how our Grad Student QB does under our new offense. His numbers aren't huge, but we also run the ball a lot as well and he doesn't throw many interceptions, so he is efficient. (FYI - We have two great transfer QBs right behind him.)

#1 Maverick McIvor
QB: 6'2", 210 lbs
Originally transferred from Texas Tech a few years back after an injury.

2023

Started all 11 games for ACU in 2023. Completed 56% of his passes (164-294) for 1972 yards, with 17 touchdowns against 5 interceptions.

2022

Saw action in 10 games, 9 of which were starts for the Wildcats. He threw for 2212 yards with 16 touchdowns with a completion percentage of over 60%.

2019-2021 (Texas Tech)

Did not see any game action as a sophomore in 2021
In 2020, Did not see any game action as a redshirt freshman … benefited from full year of practice reps after missing majority of his true freshman campaign - member of the dress roster throughout season as a backup quarterback
Redshirt season in 2019 - suffered a leg injury during preseason practices that kept him off the field for most of the season.

High School

Recorded his best season as a junior, throwing for 3,415 yards while rushing for 870 yards
Accounted for 52 total touchdowns that season en route to being named the District 2-6A Offensive MVP
Was an honorable mention All-State selection by the Associated Press
Notched 43 passing touchdowns on the season with only eight interceptions
Averaged 5.2 yards per carry over his 166 attempts on the ground
Senior season was ended early due to an injury in only the second game
Previously garnered second team All-District 2-6A honors as a wide receiver his sophomore season … caught 35 passes that season for 532 yards and seven touchdowns.
A 3-star QB and the No. 25 QB prospect in the nation, as well as the No. 97 player in the state of Texas according to ESPN rankings…247sports also ranked him as a 3-star and the No. 30 dual-threat QB in the nation.
