Not too surprising, really. Remember, there are lot of bettors for the Super Bowl, including many who haven't really been paying attention to the season. They open their paper, see 18-0 vs. 13-6, and well, 14 point spread seems to make sense.

I'm torn between seeing history with a team I don't like or watching the team that just knocked off my team upset the Pats.
I'm leaning towards going for the Pats since we won't see a team go 19-0 again if it doesn't happen in 2 weeks. I wasn't alive yet the time the Dolphins went 17-0.

I agree - people seem to forget that the NFL's been around for 80 some years or so - that's twice as long as they've been having Super Bowls. Just because they just called them "championships" that doesn't make them any less than the Super Bowls.

We're tickled to death (well, most of us) the Patriots lost, but we're forgetting the other remarkable thing here: Eli Manning just won a Super Bowl. Well, I wasn't one on here blabbering the past few weeks, but I have no problem congratulating the Giants. Their defense was terrific all night, great pass rush and coverage. When Eli escaped on that play then threw to Tyree who held onto the ball pinned against his helmet, I felt the Giants were going to win. It just seemed like it was going to be the Giants night. Congrats again!!! xbowx xbowx
Now, some of you guys are spinning your hate to unbelievable reaches. The clock had run down to 0:00, the Patriots had gone out on downs and Belichek met and hugged Coughlin on the field. While that happened the asinine NFL decides to put a second back on the clock. Why? Any person with an ounce of logic sees the hundreds of people on the field and just calls the game. It was over. What did you expect Belichek do to, come back out on the field and hug Coughlin again? xconfusedx xconfusedx xconfusedx

Wow, what a game!
Congrats to the Patriots first. 18-1 (I know it hurts to hear now, but bear with me) is a tremendous accomplishment and should be applauded. They were put in the unenviable position of already being famous, it was just a question of what for. They still are a great team, and that shouldn't be forgotten. I have no problem with Belichick leaving the field. He shook Coughlin's hand, did the congratulations thing, there was no reason for him to stay.
And the Giants....wow. I've followed this team for so many years, and seen them win and lose games in every single fashion imaginable (and some I still can't believe). I cannot imagine a more satisfying championship than to pull off the greatest upset in League history. This one's for Mara and Tisch (RIP to 2 great owners), this one's for old guys like Strahan and Toomer, who've been so good for this team for so long, this one's for guys like Coughlin, Eli and so many others who finally broke through. Giants of the Football world again :)

It's a joke. I just love how ESPN and other sports outlets were saying greatness is defined by Super Bowls(tons of people agree, I do not). Well Tom went down the field and scored what appeared to be the "game winner" then Eli outdid him by one and won the superbowl. Therefore Eli is greater than Tom. :D ;)

Well this is the first SB Tom played in where he (or Slick Willy Belichek) didn't know what was coming ahead of time. Tom is thus 0-1 AV (after video).
Lots of guys are 0-1, nothing to be ashamed of. Tom is just his generation's Craig Morton.
And Belichek is like Ed Norton's "Worm", in Rounders, got caught with a hanger against the Jets just like Worm did against those upstate cops. Didn't have to cheat there, but always looking for an edge...
