The #1 high school team in the country takes on #2 today at the National High School Wrestling Coaches Asso. "Final Four" Tournament at Easton. Neither team has lost this year. Easton has won the Reno (NV) Tournament of Champions and the Manheim Tournament this year. Star grappler at 130, Jordan Oliver (already commited to Okla. State) set an all time takedown record at the Manheim with 37 despite receiving a first round bye. A capacity crowd is expected at Easton's brand new gym which seats 3,000. Few other places in the country draw such crowds for high school wrestling. Blair Academy is a perennial national powerhouse out of nearby Lawrenceville, New Jersey and is favored on overall balance, but bonus points could be the difference. Easton, besides Oliver, has three other wrestlers who are legitimate threats to win PA titles this year.

Unbelieveable...Blair Academy is in a universe of its' own beating Easton 51-10. This after Easton waylaid schools from Virginia and South Carolina, 57-6 and 67-6. The Bucaneers are for real....xrotatehx

Blair is ridiculous. I've only seen them wrestle once when I was back in high school. I attended Hill at the time, who was also highly ranked that year (may have been the 98/99 season, I don't remember). As I recall, the result wasn't close.

Those private schools like Blair have such an advantage. A catholic high schopl usually draws from only a few districts and people complain about them, Blair can and does take kids from anywhere, it like an all-star wrestling team.

Indeed. I believe that they have separate teams too. I think they have one team of postgrads that wrestles a college schedule...

In a tournament earlier this year that involve a number of LV programs, Blair sent an "A" team the a won the tournament going away. Their 'B'team came in THIRD out fo 20 teams!
Easton actually lost 5 matches that were very close that would have made the score more respectable, but no question, Blair is in a realm of their own with national recruiting.

Blair took the torch that had been carried for years by the big 3 in NJ: Phillipsburg, Brick and Jefferson.
