It's that time of the year! So what games does everyone plan/hope to attend this season? Personally, as I wait on professional opportunities at two Great Plains institutions for the up coming academic year it's tough to put together a realistic itinerary. With that said, if things go as I think they might (I already have one position secured in Northeast PA) then my schedule options should look like this.

Likely
9/21 Princeton at Lehigh
10/19 Kansas State at West Virginia OR
10/26 Kansas at Kansas State (if I can swing a weekend trip to Manhattan I'm going to head out, if not, Morgantown it is!)
11/16 Lafayette at Lehigh....I haven't been to a Lehigh/Lafayette game since 2016. That game at Fisher concluded a run of 19 straight years (missed 1996). I need to get back.....

Maybe (hopefully 1, maybe 2 of these)
8/30 Lehigh at Army....I want to go! Not sure if I can swing it though. I haven't been to West Point since 2010 (vs Temple). I was there the last time (1995) Lehigh played at Michie. The first game with the plain gold helmets.
9/28 Holy Cross at Syracuse....I haven't been to the Dome since 2019. I would like to change that...
11/2 Virginia Tech at Syracuse ....see above
11/16 Colgate at Lehigh...depends how the season unfolds...

Longshot
9/21 Utah State at Temple...maybe a Lehigh/Temple double header? I'm interested in seeing Utah State....
11/9 Washington at Penn State...I have an avenue for free Penn State tickets except Ohio State. I might take advantage of that if that holds true for Washington (regardless the stakes)
11/30 Kansas State at Iowa State...I would love to attend Farmaggedon! Depends on how my Thanksgiving Weekend shapes up.....

Planning to… Lord & wallet willin’, of course… 10 games, before Playoffs

8/29 - Presbyterian @ Mercer (not going to FU @ Ole Miss Sat. & MU buddy has Prez Box tix @ Mercer Thu night)

9/7 - SC State @ The Citadel (Hall of Fame Weekend, bellhop buddy of FUBeAR’s being inducted)

9/14 - Mercer @ Chattanooga (Little Miss FUBeAR lives in Chatt; fam time & better game than Stetson @ FU)

9/21 - The Citadel @ Mercer (FUBeAR Jr’s B’Day, so meetup / Family weekend in Maconga)

9/28 - Samford @ Furman (FU Family Weekend) - Mercer is @ Wofford IN SparkleCity, so FUBeAR Jr & Mrs. FUBeAR Jr. will go to that game, and then we’ll have a FUBeAR Family Weekend in the GREAT GREENVILLE

10/5 - OFF - not going to FU @ The Citadel since will have been to CIT on 9/7; Mercer off; Thanks ESPN3/+

10/12 - Chattanooga @ Furman …OR…
……………Princeton @ Mercer …
……………IF, either FU or Chatt, or both, appear to be having, surprisingly, very disappointing season(s)

10/19 - WCU @ Furman (Homecoming / Players’ Day)

10/26 - WCU @ Mercer (possibly…just like to be there for Mercer’s 9th straight win over the Cantamounts, but might stay home, cuz going to Maconga the following weekend); Furman off

11/2 - ETSU @ Mercer (Homecoming); Furman @ VMI, long drive

11/16 - OFF - Furman @ ETSU & Mercer @ Alabama - long drives … Thanks SEC Network & ESPN3/+

11/23 - Furman @ Mercer - duh

yep - that’s way too many Mercer Home games (as many as 6) & total Mercer games (as many as 7) for a Furman-first Fan (as few as 2 Home FU games & 3 total (before Playoffs)), but that’s just the way the schedule and family commitments/events/locations have lined it up. Hopefully, we’ll have 2 or 3 home Playoff games @ FU to make up for it.

9/7- Jax State @ Louisville
9/14- Jax State @ Eastern Michigan
10/5- SDSU @ UNI (Maybe)
11/30- Jax State @ WKU
December- Whatever Bowl Jax State Makes (Maybe)

SDSU game will depend on if October is still reasonable motorcycle weather or not.

Bowl game will depend on where it is.

Normally, I'd also go to Frisco, but since the NCAA brain trust put it on a Monday night, **** em.

Have tickets/hotel for:
9/7 vs Maine (Gold Rush game)
11/9 vs Sac St

We also have a hotel booked for Cat-Griz 11/23 so there will be a strong push to locate tickets for that game also.

I didn't have a strong desire to see the home games against Mercyhurst or NoCo. The Oct. 12th game vs Idaho would be nice, but ESPN picked it up so kickoff is 8:15pm local time. This necessitates a hotel, and it's parents weekend so lodging is hard to come by for a reasonable rate. Still possible tho.

All Bobcat home games (including playoffs). Hopefully 1 or 2 away games.

I haven't missed a home football game for over 20 years. I wasn't keeping track so not sure how long the streak is. But I know the last game my wife missed was when our daughter was born almost 21 years ago (I went to the game) and we hadn't missed a game for a long time before that. We've had season tickets and tailgated since there were only a couple thousand attending the games.

Good Luck! Will you come if you don't have tickets and hope to find some at the tailgates?

That's an impressive streak! I'd like to get season tickets, but I'm guessing I won't be able to secure them in the next 10 years, when I hope to retire and move somewhere on a beach.

Does that work? I'd really hate to drive up and not get tickets, but if there's a decent chance, it would be worth being in the atmosphere anyway.

I finally was able to secure season tickets for Portland State so I will be attending all Viking homes games this year. Also, planning on going to Rocky Mountain College (my alma mater) playing at Southern Oregon on Oct. 12. I also try to make it to at least one Oregon State game, but their schedule matches up almost exactly with PSU as far as home game, so I may not make it this year. Looks like the only Beaver game possible is the opener against Idaho State.

Likely only 2 games for me this year:
Maryland at Indiana
USC at Maryland

Maybe: (Hope I can get to one of these but don't think its very likely)
Rutgers at Maryland
Maryland at Penn St
SDSU at UNI
SDSU at Missouri St

I've relocated to the midwest for 6 months, disappointed SDSU isn't playing any of the teams near me. Might try to attend a bowl game if Maryland makes it.

I love the dedication/passion! Have you lived in Bozeman during the entirety of the streak? I can't imagine traversing I-90 in November and December when the weather is sketchy. Bozeman Pass can be extremely dangerous! I remember driving, well attempting to drive, to the 2012 Portland State game from Belgrade! I made it as far as Black Bull then caught a ride to the game with a coworker rather than trying to make it to campus.

My planned, in-person 2024 college football schedule (all times Eastern):

DEFINITE/LIKELY GAMES
09/07 (Sat): Temple at Navy, 3:30 PM
09/21 (Sat): Villanova at Maryland, time TBA
10/12 (Sat): East Stroudsburg at Bloomsburg, 2:00 PM
11/02 (Sat): Lehigh at Georgetown, 12:30 PM

ONE OF THE FOLLOWING GAMES
10/19 (Sat): Tulsa at Temple, time TBA
10/26 (Sat): Temple at East Carolina, time TBA
11/16 (Sat): Florida Atlantic at Temple, time TBA

It is truly up in the air which of these three games I'll attend at this point but I do plan to go to one of them.

OTHER POSSIBLE GAMES
09/21 (Sat): Penn at Delaware, 6:00 PM (this game becomes likely if Villanova/Maryland the same day is a 12 PM game)
10/12 (Sat): Georgetown at Lafayette, 12:30 PM (an unlikely but possible alternative to the East Stroudsburg/Bloomsburg game the same day)
10/19 (Sat): Columbia at Penn, 1:00 PM (possibility if Tulsa/Temple is a night game)
11/16 (Sat): Harvard at Penn, 1:00 PM (possibility if Florida Atlantic/Temple is a night game)
11/30 (Sat): North Texas at Temple, time TBA (depends on schedule of other sports events that day but right now looks unlikely)
12/14 (Sat): Navy vs Army (at Landover, MD), 3:00 PM (depends on college basketball schedule that day and whether I want to spend probably at least a couple hundred dollars for a ticket)

In addition to games listed above, select DI-AA/FCS and/or D2 playoff games involving teams I follow that take place near the DC area (on 11/23 or 12/7) or the Lehigh Valley (on 11/30) are also possibilities.

Finally, I plan to attend one Philadelphia Eagles NFL game for sure this fall (12/22 at Washington) and it is possible some of the Eagles' games in Philadelphia (12/8 vs Carolina is probably the most likely candidate) could be added depending on whether those games are televised in the DC area.

EDIT: originally forgot to list the Army-Navy Game, which I have interest in attending whenever it is played near DC and my schedule works. Attending the 2015 Army-Navy Game showed me it is a game worth going to if possible, even though I have no interest in either Navy or Army football.

I'm not sure if it works. I've had people say it does (like they do with the Nat'l Championship game). We have had last minute cancellations before and given away a ticket or two at our tailgate, and I know others have too. It happens. But I don't know if I'd count on it, although Spectators, Rocking R could be backups - but they're busy that day too.

It helps to have a wife who also loves going to the games.

I was here (in college) when we won the national championship in '84. I was in the stands for the home games but for some reason the memories are a little fuzzy. xdrunkyx Other than a few summer jobs out of state during college, I've been here ever since. I still like Bozeman, but I miss the Bozeman of 40 years ago. We thought housing was expensive then (and it was for the time) but it's ridiculous now. It's sad talking to someone who wants to stay here - and can get/has a decent job here - but can't afford to stay.

We've owned two different houses and both are/were in walking distance to the stadium. If I'm setting up the tailgate I have to drive. Otherwise I walk or ride my bike. So getting to the games is not an issue.

Definite: at Holy Cross, vs Stonehill, vs Bryant, at Harvard, vs Rhody, at Villanova, at Albany, vs Monmouth, vs Stony Brook

Not Sure: at Elon, at Maine

Skipping: at UCF (Thursday night, hot and humid Orlando on Labor Day weekend)

I plan on attending 9 of 12 UNH games, possibly 10 or 11, yet I'm feeling not worthy after reading Tribe4SF's post!! :D Tribe4SF ==> xbowx xbowx xbowx xbowx

I still haven't landed on a game that I'll 100% be at.

Was planning on bringing the family out to Rhody this weekend until I realized the Holy Cross-URI game at Meade is a 7pm kickoff. I have a 6 month old so that definitely will not work.

I have a feeling I'll get to one game at Fitton Field and the Lafayette game in Easton.

Great pic!

Temple is truly awful xsmhx. I can't muster of the energy nor the time commitment to attend a game right now. Sad.....

I had to bypass the Sunflower State Showdown game in favor of Arizona State at Kansas State on November 16th. I already secured my ticket and have my transportation set up for the Sun Devils game. I'm excited to get back to Manhattan after moving out of my apartment in late June! Maybe next year I'll be back there full-time? This allows me to attend the K-State West Virginia game if I can snag a reasonably priced ticket.

I'm fairly certain I'm headed to Goodman on Saturday for Bucknell/Lehigh.

#20 Oklahoma State at #23 Kansas State is also at Noon ET but after my Wildcats got run out of Provo I think i'll survive by "score tracking". Nonetheless, this is a must win if K-State is to make the Big 12 Championship Game so i'll be locked in one way or another. I also have a free ticket for #19 Illinois at #9 Penn State this week but driving back to NEPA from State College late night is not nearly as fun as it was when I was younger...lol. As it is, if the Oct 5th game against UCLA is a Nooner or 3:30 start I might utilize my freebie. Otherwise, Washington or Maryland will be the only options left (Ohio State is a no go) . The season goes by in a blink! I am by no means a PSU fan but attending a game at Beaver Stadium is pretty sweet!

I'll be in Happy Valley tomorrow for the UCLA @ Penn State game. With Lehigh, Kansas State, and Notre Dame all on a bye along with Syracuse playing tonight (Temple at UConn?...lol) I figured it was a good week to venture out to Central PA. I am by no means a PSU fan but a free ticket, great weather, and the "Beaver Stadium Experience" will make for an enjoyable day. I plan on stopping by the "Big Noon Saturday" Fox set as well. The only real negative is I'll be forced to listen to Phils/Mets Game 1 on the radio. I should snag a few good pics. Seats are top-shelf....

The photo above (as is the case with I think all the game photos I've taken in this thread except probably the East Stroudsburg/Bloomsburg game because I got to that game a little late) was taken early in the 1st quarter before most fans who attended got to their seats. The crowd looked distinctly larger in the 2nd quarter.

Having said that, there's no doubt there were many no-shows today, and it was a buyer's market on the secondary market (which is how I bought my ticket).
