Buccaneers Announce Two Additions to Football Staff
By CSU Sports Information
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Buccaneers, and Head Coach Jay Mills have announced two new faces that will join the Charleston Southern sidelines during the 2008 football season. RaShan Frost and Gabe Giardina have each been hired to replace Mickey Mays and Jim Beverly, who announced their resignations.
Frost will take over as the defensive line coach, having come from the University of Rhode Island, where he coached for two years under Tim Stowers. While there, he was in charge of the defensive line and also served as the recruiting coordinator.
Prior to going to Rhode Island, Frost was an assistant coach at Illinois State for two years, also handling defensive line and recruiting coordinator responsibilities.
A 2000 alumni of Auburn University, Frost first got into coaching as a volunteer student assistant with Tommy Tubberville, and stayed on the Tigers’ staff as a graduate assistant, helping with quality control and football operations, all while getting his feet wet as the assistant defensive line coach........
Buc fans should be excited about Mills picking up Frost. Don't know the history on Giardina but knowing Mills and what he looks for in coaches he should be a great addition as well.
