NEW YORK — Columbia fencing first-year Sam Kumbla was honored by the United States Fencing Coaches Association as the National Men's Foil Newcomer of the Year. Kumbla made a big impact for the Lions in 2023-24, helping Columbia earn the Ivy League Men's Championship and a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
