Are these official announcements, or just compiled from what we collectively know?
For example, I know that while Colgate's schedule is unlikely to change at this point, it hasn't yet been officially announced

Many of these (at least the ones that comprised my first group of 6) were officially announced. UNH can elaborate on the large group he posted that I integrated into my list.

Delaware's schedule is done - it's been done for a year or two now. Not sure when, if ever, they make an official announcement, but it's on their website and I know Travis has it in his tracking.

Ok it seems this discussion spiraled completely out of control while I was sleeping last night. I started this thread to talk about teams that have completed (and preferably issued an official announcement re:) their 2008 schedules. Talk of conservatism, or one's like or dislike of of a certain user's signature (and rampant immaturity in general) does not have a place in this discussion.
As for Delaware's schedule, if its done great. I will punch them into the list and I will make a disticntion with those teams that have made an official announcement.

I don't know about you, but I think if it is listed on the school's official website...that could be considered officially released, no?

Those are what I particularly look for. I went through the list I have already posted and looked for the official release on the respective school's website (particularly in the football section since youre not going to find a lot of football news on the front page of many websites with basketball season in full swing)

Taylor picked up a tenth game last week (6th home game), they'll be starting the season on a Thursday night against Austin Peay. Still could use two more games, I heard somewhere that Taylor was actually leaning towards only scheduling 11 next year even though we can have 12. I don't like that idea but I guess it would be good for the health of the team.

They should get a win against Adams State at home. Adams State went 2-9 last year without playing any D-I opponents.

I suppose it's possible, Syracuse still needs an opponent and is open on the 20th. Northeastern has only 11 games, even though they have called their schedule "official," and are also open on the 20th. I assume we will see more in a couple of weeks or so when the Big East releases their conference schedule.

Dude, you're biased. Central St is DII and S. Utah just went 0-11 this year. Check out Northeastern's schedule, that's just one of many that will be better than YSU's schedule this year - not saying that YSU doesn't have a decent schedule, but it's certainly not the toughest out there.

The Tennessee Tech schedule isn't complete.
Also North Dakota apparently will announce a 10 game schedule tomorrow. They hope to add atleast another game at some point but are prepared to play just 10 games this season.
There also may still be talks with South Dakota to play twice in 2008

Samford (http://samfordsports.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/012808aaa.html)
With those two, we can call Elon's schedule complete also, with the Chattanooga game being Oct 18. (The only open date that both Elon and Chatt share.) While Elon has yet to release a schedule, all but Chatty have put out an official release, so I'd say that is about as close to official as it gets.

You left out Nicholls State (who hasn't released their schedule), though they do have an opening game locked up.

Yeah, this list is for teams where we know the whole schedule. The ones listed as not having an official release are still teams where we know the whole schedule, it just hasn't been posted by the team yet.
For Nicholls st, we know their conference schedule and two of the non-con, but still need 1 or 2 more games. Plus, how do you know that is Nicholls St's opening game. The game is on Sep 4, so they could still have a game on Aug 30. The article states it is the opener for NM St.

Why do you keep posting that SHSU has not done an official release? They have the schedule on the web site and it has 11 dates.
Knowing SHSU, they won't post an official release on the schedule until the ticket prices are set for season ticket packages...and they announce when those will be for sale...

Football schedule for 2008 is set
Dolphins face three-time defending champion Appalachian State; Season opens on Aug. 30 at Savannah State
April 1, 2008
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - According to JU head football coach Kerwin Bell, the only way you can get better is by playing better competition.
That will be the case in 2008 as the Dolphins will face a difficult schedule, highlighted by a road trip to face three-time defending national champion Appalachian State.
"This is a tough schedule, but it will give our kids some great experiences and will help us as we build our program," Bell said. "I want our kids to face a tough non-conference schedule to get us ready for conference play. Our goal every year is to win a championship. We want our kids to face good teams that will prepare them for our league, which is full of very good teams."
JU's battle against Appalachian State will continue garnering the Dolphins exposure and will give the Dolphins a top 25 ranked opponent for the third straight season.
"I have a tremendous amount of respect for the Appalachian State program and what they have accomplished," said JU director of athletics Alan Verlander. "This is the most competitive schedule we have ever put together and it excites me to get the fall kicked-off."
The 2008 schedule features five home games, including a new opponent in the Pioneer Football League - Campbell. The Camels will serve as the home opener at D.B. Milne Field on Sept. 13, which will also double as Homecoming.
The Dolphins also have plans for a Thursday night home game against Webber International. It will be just the second home night game in school history; the first was in 2005 as JU played in front of the second-largest crowd in school history.
JU will host Dayton, Drake and San Diego in Pioneer Football League play, with road games at Butler, Valaparaiso, Davidson and Morehead State.
The schedule opens with a road trip to Savannah State on Aug. 30 with a return game to UNC-Pembroke set for September 20.

Albany's spring practice notes now show a 'TBA' on September 6, so I guess that resolves the UA/Fordham/URI conflict in favor of Rams vs. Rams. I was told Albany had a verbal agreement with Fordham but never got it in writing; we'll resume the series next year. Meanwhile we need a home game for 9/6 as we've only got four left.

Since St. Francis has released their schedule, sans club team, I think you are safe. Unless you think Robert Morris might be the culprit. (They are the only NEC team yet to release a schedule.....except you guys.)

Sept 13 likely Concordia College of Selma, AL, but.....
UT-Martin earlier announced Concordia on same date.
Is this the same school or different Concordia from

anywhere to verify.
Makes better sense for CC Selma to play in nearby Montgomery
rather than travel to Martin, Tenn.xchinscratchx

Sept 13 likely Concordia College of Selma, AL, but.....
UT-Martin earlier announced Concordia on same date.
Is this the same school or different Concordia from
Illinois, Wisconsin, or Minnesota? Can't find any news
anywhere to verify.
Makes better sense for CC Selma to play in nearby Montgomery
rather than travel to Martin, Tenn.xchinscratchx
Well, it's not the one from Illinois or Wisconsin, both have posted schedules showing different opponents on the 13th, Eureka and Valparaiso, respectively. The one in Moorhead, MN is showing a game against Dickinson St on the 13th. So that leaves the on in St. Paul, MN or the one in Nebraska. Either that or someone has an error on their schedule.

The Valparaiso schedule is now posted on their website:
http://www.valparaiso.edu/athletics/fb/2008/schedule.php
Valparaiso will play six home games for the first time since 2004 and open the season under the lights on a Thursday night as Crusader head coach Stacy Adams announced the Brown and Gold’s 2008 football schedule.
With spring practice concluding on Saturday, the Crusaders are now looking ahead to a Thursday night opener in Joliet, Ill. against Saint Francis (Ill.). The two schools met for the first time in 2007 with the Crusaders scoring a 28-21 victory.
Concordia (Wis.) will come to Brown Field on Saturday, September 13 for the Crusaders home opener, and the first game to be played on the new field turf. It will mark the first meeting ever between the Crusaders and Falcons.
The battle with Concordia will also mark the beginning of four home games in five weeks for the Brown and Gold. The Crusaders will close non-conference play with Marian (Ind.) on September 20 before having a bye week on September 27.
“This has been the first time in years we have had a bye week in the middle of the season,” Adams said. “It comes at a good time for us too, right before the PFL season begins.”
Valpo heads to San Diego on October 4 for the Pioneer Football League opener before returning to Brown Field for Homecoming on October 11 against Davidson.
Valpo will look to defend The Helmet in the annual battle with instate rival Butler at Brown Field on October 18 before back-to-back road games at Dayton and Morehead State. Parents’ Weekend is set for November 8 as the Crusaders entertain Jacksonville before going on the road to face the newest PFL member, Campbell a week later. The regular season ends with Senior Day on November 22 against Drake before the PFL champion faces the Northeast Conference winner on December 6 in the third annual Gridiron Classic.
All of the Crusaders’ home games will start at 1 p.m. with the exception of the November 22 contest which will start at noon.
Valpo is coming off of a 5-6 campaign, its best season since 2004, and a 2-5 mark in PFL play.

Tennessee Tech is supposed to release their official schedule next week. All 11 games are 'official,' but they were still trying to get a 12th game, home game, for Sept 27. The AD told me two weeks ago that they had "two weeks" to decide on just going with 11 games if a 12th could not found...

UND AD off and running (http://www.grandforksherald.com/articles/index.cfm?id=75432§ion=homepage)
The Sioux football team, meanwhile, has 10 games scheduled, but there is a two-week gap in the schedule. The Sioux have a game scheduled Sept. 27 at Southeastern Louisiana, but aren’t scheduled to play again until Oct. 18 against Western Washington.
It may be difficult, Faison said, to find an 11th game.
“I don’t think there is another game out there,” Faison said. “It’s a pretty tough game to get right now. But if we can get one, we will.”
The UND athletic department has been trying to line up 1 more DI game for the season but are having a heck of a time. Its not looking very good.

With all due respect, you'll probably be playing a D-II school during that time period. Not a D-1.

Nicholls State has added Bowie State on Sept 13th at home, and
is close to an agreement with another school for August 28th or 29th.
Speculation is that it will be an FCS team currently with a first week bye
and only 11 game schedule so far. Some of the candidates are
Missouri State, Western Ill, Southern Ill, New Hampshire, No Colorado.

Texas Southern does not even know how (or have the ability) to access their web site for an updating. They did send out a release because it did get into the papers, but obviously, there's no way of ever telling if their SID does anything. xnonono2x

As for the rest:
Alabama State = game with Concordia didn't work out, still looking for another home game, 11 on schedule so far
Jackson State = website still lists as tentative 11 games (jsutigers.cstv.com)
Harvard = official schedule on website (gocrimson.com)
San Diego = official schedule (usdtoreros.cstv.com)
Davidson = no official release yet but confirmed OOC games are
Sept 6 at UNCP, Sept 13 at Lenoir-Rhyne, Nov 15 vs Marist
I think we're almost done here.

Alabama St and Jackson State posted schedules (or at the very least, they are available on the SWAC web site). As I explained with Texas Southern, there are a few SWAC schools that lack in updating their web site, but atleast the SWAC (who does a half-tush job as well) has it up on theirs...
