1.D.McFadden(Ark)
2.R.Mendenhall(Ill)
3.J.Stewart(Ore)
4.K.Smith(UCF)
5.F.Jones(Ark)

who do you guys think. Always good to get an early start on who I want to draft in fantasy football next year.

Whoever gets D.Mac, whoever Houston gets and whoever Seattle gets should be good pick ups

If Rutgers' Ray Rice comes out, he is as good as any of them. xthumbsupx

Looking at this list and considering how good Noel Devine is, makes me think that Steve Slaton made the wrong decision (regarding his football career) to return to WVU next year.

Wells can't come out. He's a true sophmore (unless he went to some kind of prep school after HS).

I think Devine will take some touches from Slaton but, Devine is more of a change of pace back. I think WVU will be even more dangerous with both of them together.

Smith is a good back no question. I didn't put him on the list because he should stay in school for one more year before he comes out. Plus he plays in very weak C-USA, he had some big numbers against some very bad schools.

I agree that he needs to stay, but I think he's one of the top 5 juniors. Plus, you've got guys from E. Carolina and Tulane in your seniors top 5.xconfusedx

He already said he is coming out early. McFadden is the best there is.

Forte is a good back, he had a problem with fumbles though. He ran the ball well especially for a team that only won 4 games.

Barry Sanders was smaller than that. Not trying to compare the two, but I'm just saying.

Ray Rice's size oftens works in his favor as he runs though the opening in the line. He holds the Rutgers career rushing record and will probably break the NCAA career rushing record if he were to return for his senior year. The word is he will be turning pro.

I think a lot of it has to do with where they land

If Stewart and Mendenhall land in Houston & Seattle they can take the job as a rookie. If one of the the top 5 goes to Dallas they will be on the smaller end of a split with Barber.

2008 Mocks I've seen have them going in this order

1.McFadden(6'2" 205) to Atlanta or Oakland
2.Stewart(5'11" 230) to Houston
3.Mendenhall(5'11 224) to Seattle
4.Jones(6' 200) to Dallas

none of the others went in the 1st.
I've looked at about 20 mocks and if I put them all together that is were they would go. As long as Michael Turner doesn't sign with any of those 4 teams

They'd have to split carries with Julius Jones, too. Felix Jones would help with the return game as well.

jag Julius Jones is gone he's a free agent and rumors are that he signs with Chicago. Dallas already said he's not coming back, thus the high pick on an RB

I know, look at Maurice Jones-Drew he's only 5'7'' and he's had a pretty good year.

I didn't realize that, don't know where my head was at. xconfusedx Felix Jones would still be a good fit to me.

I think the East Carolina guy is interesting. I saw him play for the first time in the bowl and he looked really good.

Take a look at this list of senior prospects and his 40 time (4.27):

http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/players.php?genpos=RB&draftyear=2008&sortorder=tsxpos&order=ASC

For comparison, you can look at McFadden's, for instance, by selecting next year. He's listed at 4.42.

Ray Rice is coming out early. That's good for his body because Rutgers really gives him the ball alot.
