New England looking to stay perfect against Jacksonville this weekend to continue along their road of finishing the season with a 19-0 record.

For the love of god can someone shut Mercury Morris up. Your 15 minutes of fame are up.

Part of me thinks they could do it (the Jags, that is), but part of me also thinks this game is ripe for a blowout, for New England

The Pats, a team that thrives off of being disbelieved in, is now facing "the favorite" to knock them off. New England's been resting for a week, prepping for this game. Once the dust cleared from going 16-0, you can bet Belichick let his team know all about how they gave up 35 points in their last game. The Pats will be primed and ready to go

So far, what exactly has Jacksonville done? They beat a Pittsburgh team that they were superior to, but only after blowing an 18 point lead in the 2nd half.

Indianapolis is the team to beat New England

George Orwell must have been foreseen AGS when he authored 1984.

As for the Jags, they can chase history all they want. They'll be chasing and chasing and chasing and...

I like Jacksonville's chacnes in this game. They can run the ball and having Taylor and MJ Drew there is no drop-off when one goes out and the other enters.

NE's special teams coverage has been sub-par and MJ Drew is a good returner. Garrard does not make too many mistakes (4 INTs I beleive) and is a big guy who isn't easy to take down.

The weather shouldn't be a factor - high in the upper 30's.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOO JACKSONVILLE! xthumbsupx xthumbsupx

First of all, people care way too much about reps if someone is getting banned for neg repping people.

On to the game. NE, SD and Indy hate that Jax was able to pull out that game over Pitt. Not saying that Jax is going to the Super Bowl but they are going to be tougher to beat than Pitt would have been.

I still have NE winning this week. They haven't played their best the past month but they know how to win and sometimes that is huge.

thats funny....

Jacksonville is missing some significant players on defense.

Somehow they ended up beating Pittsburgh despite blowing a lead. They also have been battled tested through the AFC South that produced three playoff teams. Unlike the other AFC conferences. They may still lose the game, but they will be competitive. Cold weather will not be a factor because they can play in less than ideal conditions.

The Colts had nothing to play for anyways. Even if the Titans would have lost the Patriots would still be the only AFC East team in the playoffs. Shenanigans I think not.

And the Patriots beat all 3 playoff teams from the NFC East, And The Colts, and the Chargers, and the Steelers.

Since the Patriots have won every game so far, that doesn't surprise me. An undefeated regular and post season. That will be something that will go down in the team history in sports period. I just hope that it will be competitive and be worth watching. xpeacex

This game makes me a bit nervous because Jacksonville has a good run game. Luckily the weather shouldn't be a factor this weekend or else I would be worried about it stopping the Patriots passing game. The Pats running game is in my opinion kinda weak... Maroney is okay but just not as fast and quick as many other RB's are. :) Either way, I'm totally pulling for the PATS and I think they have the talent and ability to take it all the way to the top. GO PATS

UNHWildCats
January 11th, 2008, 07:41 PM
Maroney is fast...... he just runs strait at it, he dont cut to find holes much. The running game is the most effective they have had in years... 2007 was the first season since 1985 they averaged over 4 YPC.

The running game was severely damaged when Sammy Morris was lost for the season, he was big part of the plan, was supposed to be shared backfield like last year with Dillon and Maroney.

Im not at all concerned with this game, ya Jax can run, but their secondary is bad and they have noone whos going to be able to cover Welker.

Everyone points to this great running game that could put the Patriots Offense in check by keeping them off the field..... a few weeks ago Pittsburgh rushed for over 180 yards and what happened, Brady and Co still put up 31 points and won rather easily.

GannonFan
January 12th, 2008, 12:14 AM
You don't beat the Pats by stopping their offense (although slowing it slightly could help) - you need to score more yourself. The Eagles and Giants almost did that. You can't stop the Patriots offense, not in this day and age of the NFL, you need to outscore it. I doubt Jax can do that, but that's why they play the game.
