Is it typically for everything beyond your EFC number.

This is a point of much contention, and really no easy answer. Also the schools seem to fudge the numbers a whole lot. I was offered drastically different aid packages by league schools when I was being recruited. One thing is pretty certain, if you are uppeer middle class dont expect a ton of aid, a kid will get some but it will only cover a small portion of costs

Expected Family Contribution. When you complete the finanicial aid papers, that's the amount that it tells you that you will likely owe.
