End of the first quarter--PSU 7, Sac 3.

Portland State ran the opening kickoff 66 yards setting up the touchdown. PSU D shutting down Sac O. PSU offense already has 2 turnovers, one leading to Sac's FG.

Halftime---PSU 7, Sac St 6

PSU called for pass interference on the last play of the half, giving Sac a chance at a long FG (42 yards). Still, Viking D doing well against Hornet O. Concern that the Viking D has been out on the field for a long time.

Viking O reminds me of purchasing a classic automobile. Goes well at first and everyone is pleased. Later on, it starts to sputter and no one knows why.

Sac State is looking tenacious. I think Portland State is in for a dogfight in the second half. This game is reminding me of last week's PSU-UC Davis contest.

Start of the second half. PSU kickoff goes out of bounds. Announcers just pointed out that Sac State would be in first place in the Big Sky with a win (HEHEHE). Also pointed out that Sac State hasn't won on the road since 2002.

PSU blocks a Sac State punt and gets the ball at the SSU 25, big runs for Rubin on back-to-back plays to the goal-line.

Rubin goes into the end zone off a block from FB Kennett. PAT makes it 14-6 PSU with a little over 12 minutes left in the third.

Sac State blocks a PSU field goal attempt midway through the third.

Big blitz on third down by PSU leads to a QB fumble and a Viking TD. PSU 21-6 late in the third.

End of the 3rd---PSU 21, Sac St 6

Blocked punt at the beginning by Portland State, then a lot of Rubin to the end zone. Second touchdown on a fumble recovery by Viking D. Sac driving at the end. Hope PSU D is not tired (like last week).

PSU 28, Sac St 6---11 mins left.

This is getting crazy. PSU muffs a punt, Sac recovers. Sac drives it down to the three, they fumble. PSU recovers and runs it back 95 yards to the one. Two plays later, Vikings punch it in.

Viking D came to play. Viking O sputtering.

PSU 28, Sac St 12---6 mins left

Sac intercepts and takes it to PSU five. Three plays later, Hornets score TD. 2-point pass is incomplete. Onside pooch kick recovered by Vikings. Getting scary now.

Viking D had virtually as many touchdowns as the Viking O (2 each). A whole lotta Rubin at the end. Sac St never got the ball back. Good game by our defense, and like some of the Big Sky teams, we too need help on the offense.
