It was only a matter of time before they collapsed. Actually, they've only been playing .500 ball since the break. Their lead could be down to 3 before this weekend is over

cheapass franchises usually do die around this time. This is when teams like the Yankees and Boston earn their salaries. Who cares what kind of lead you can get during the season, if you can't even make the playoffs.

It was no secret the Sox needed a bat at the trade and got nothing. Kenny WIlliams dropped the ball on the Griffey thing. Now that cant hit anything!!! It is a MUST for the Sox to at worst split the 6 remaining with Cleveland. But like I say STILL up 3 1/2 and sorry Reed, Im not saying much of anything right now. I said I wouldnt panic until the lead was 2 and it looks like that will be after Mondays Sox/Indians game at USCF!!!

well if their playoff hopes rested on a Griffey trade, then they were destined to failure eventually..even if they did get him.

Cleveland is proving that it will pay off if you stick it out with your young, talented players as opposed to shipping them out (attn: Royals)

Well most of the hitters... I wouldnt call Millwood, Elarton, Howry or Wickman home grown prospects. The Bartolo Colon trade with Montreal (C Lee and Sizemore and Phillips) has turned out to be better than gold for Cleveland!!!

Big series this week at USCF!!! No Sabathia or Cliff Lee for Cleveland and no Contreras for Chicago, should be a dousy and im sure the NYY have their Sox hats on this week. I dont see either team with a sweep, but whoever wins tonight clearly has all the momentum for the series!!! One advantage, if you call it an advantage, is Millwood is 0-2 vs CHI this yrar BUT has a tiny 1.29 ERA. Garcia is 2-0 vs CLE with a 1.71 ERA. Should be a great series!!!
