I admit Brett Favre is a great QB, but how does 1 Super Bowl trophy and having the most INT's ever get him 57% in a poll while John Elway, Terry Bradshaw, Otto Graham and Peyton Manning combine for less then 10%

Because people are idiots, and Packers fans stuffed the ballot box?
I voted for Sid Luckman. :D

That's what I figured. There must be links to it from several Packers fan sites.

Why on earth does Tom Brady have more votes than Johnny Unitas?

Why on earth does Tom Brady have more votes than Johnny Unitas?
because he's on the verge of 4 Super Bowls in 7 seasons along with the only 16-0 record in NFL history :p
Also If Brady averages hios career averages over his next 100 games, he will have exceeded Unitas rather easily in every major statistical category.....
Did I mention he's on the verge of his 4th Super Bowl win in 7 years? Unitas had 3 Championships 1958 and 1959, as well as a Super Bowl, but that came in 17 seasons.
I can understand Brady being ahead of him.

I don't know but I always thought that John Elway was over rated. His stats were a function of playing a lot and throwing a lot of passes. His efficiency on a play by play basis over his career wasn't very good and he also fumbled the ball a lot. People used to say he carried his teams to Super Bowls and that was nonsense. What carried the earlier Bronco teams to Super Bowls were defenses that got a lot of turnovers. When his teams finally won some Super Bowls it was mostly because of a strong running game.
Elway had a career completion percentage of 56.9 and a career passer rating of 79.9; both very mediocre. Contrast that to, for instance, Steve Young who had a career completion percentage of 64.3 and a career passer rating of 96.8. He also averaged more yards per attempt (8.0 to 7.1) and was a far more dangerous runner.
Farve has a better completion percentage (61.4) and a better passer rating (85.6) than Elway as well and is close on yards per attempt (7.0). He's also got a better TD to interception ratio (440 to 288 vs. 300 to 226 or about 1.5 vs. about 1.3).
To me, Elway was one of those phenomenae I see in sports sometimes where the hype greatly exceeds the reality. If you really broke down what he did on a play by play basis his performance really didn't look that good, but people would always spin positives.
Like I remember watching a game where Denver scored 21 points to win. The defense scored two TDs and set up the third with another turnover deep in the opponents territory. The TD was an Elway pass. The next day the headline in my local paper was something like "Elway leads Broncos to Victory." That was the tone of the story too.
Another time I remember him throwing a stupid across the field pass that was intercepted. The take of the Monday Night Football Crew was someting like, "Wow. What an arm. Most quarterbacks wouldn't even try that."
Well...yeah...it was a stupid throw.
No way he's even close to being among the greatest quarterbacks if you really look obectively at his performance, but he's one that always surfaces in the discussion.

By the way...as much as I liked Terry Bradshaw as a Louisiana guy he wasn't all that great either. His stats were even worse than Elway's. And I think he played on teams that could've won with a whole lot of different quarterbacks. Hard to lose when the other team can't score and nobody can stop your running game.

Sid Luckman: During his career, Luckman completed 51.8% of his passes for 14,686 yards and 137 touchdowns with 134 interceptions. He averaged 8.4 yards per attempt, second all-time only to Otto Graham (8.6). His career touchdown rate—the percentage of his pass attempts that resulted in touchdowns—of 7.9% is easily the best in history. In 1943, Luckman's finest season, he completed 110 of 202 passes for 2194 yards and 28 touchdowns. His 13.9% touchdown rate is the best ever in a single-season, while his 10.9 yards per attempt is second all-time. During one game that year, Luckman threw for 443 yards and seven touchdowns, still tied for the most passing TDs in one game; it was also the first 400-yard passing game in NFL history. Luckman led the NFL in average gain (yards per attempt) an NFL record seven times, including a record five consecutive years from 1939–43, and led the NFL in passing yards three times. Luckman was a five-time All-NFL selection, won the MVP in 1943, and led the "Monsters of the Midway" to championships in 1940, 1941, 1943, and 1946. Despite the fact that his career ended in 1950, Luckman still owns most major Bears' passing records, including career yards and touchdowns. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1965.

Here is a comparison of the career pass attempts to interception ratio for the following QBs:
Tom Brady – 3600 86 41.860 pa/int
Joe Montana – 5391 139 38.784 pa/int
Petyon Manning – 5389 153 35.222 pa/int
Troy Aikman - 4,715 141 33.439 pa/int
Dan Marino – 8358 252 33.166 pa/int
John Elway – 7250 226 32.079 pa/int
Brett Favre – 8748 288 30.375 pa/int
Bart Starr - 3,149 138 22.818 pa/int
Johnny Unitas – 5186 253 20.498 pa/int
Now, I am a huge Brett Favre fan, but can admit that he does throw a lot of interceptions. He also throws a lot of touchdowns, wins a lot of games, an has won a SuperBowl.

He has all the records and his name is in the news a lot this year with the records and the Green Bay Packers having a better than expected season as the NFL's youngest team. Favre has never had a great receiver on his team, some good ones like Sharpe, Brooks, Driver, but none great like Moss, Rice, Owens, Swann, Harrison. Reggie White might be the only Hall of Famer to play with Favre when all is said and done. Unless I'm missing someone. Oh, and 3 MVP awards.

Which is an interesting point. When you've got a great QB like Favre, you'd think the Packers would spring for at least one big-play wide out, like a TO or a Chad Johnson. Odd....

I'm guessing the 62,000 yards, 440 TD passes, 255 consecutive games and multiple MVP awards? xrolleyesx
I like him because he ended the San Fran/Dallas dynasties in the mid 90's.
Seriously though, I'm very sorry your Tom Brady isn't running away with the poll. Between the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics, New England fans have the worst luck!
