How has FSU escaped serious NCAA sanctions? They are easily the most corrupt 1-A school, atleast publicly. They get in trouble atleast once a year anymore. I can't believe the alumni has put up with this. Cheating in college for the average Joe mean the boot which is worse than what the players are facing. When Bobby was winning Free Shoe U. and Warrick's shopping spree weren't that big of a deal. Now that they're 7-5 someone needs to right the ****. Joe Pa has also trouble keeping his teams under wraps.

Not to be a nitpicker but it's the Music City Bowl.

Everybody's been waiting for the other shoe to drop. I never expected 20 players, though.
The Noles have had their share of trouble but I don't you must not have heard of a little school in Coral Gables, they have their share of trouble.
There are changes being made at FSU, and believe me this is a problem for alot of schools not just FSU.

I really had hoped that Bowden could keep FSU prominent, same with Shannan at Miami(time will tell with him) but it just seems to me that both programs are slowly sinking.

It's alot of reasons why both programs are declining. #1 is the inability to keep top players in state. Shannon is slowly fixing that by recruiting the city of Miami hard. Hopefully the decision to name Jimbo Fisher as a successor to Bobby will help usher out an era and enter a new one in. We'll know for sure it 3 (long) years.

Here's the thing though, I would be willing to bet that 50-75% of college students do the exact same thing on exams like this. I go to a Christian school and it happens all of the time. In my New Testament class, there were 300ish people in the class. The professor put the tests online. I knew people who rarely, if ever, came to class and they were making high A's on the tests and I was making C's and I went to every class. I asked what they were doing, and they were taking the tests with friends either through AIM, sitting next to each other on different laptops, etc. That's at a Christian school in a class about the Bible. Professors say that the tests are closed book and to be taken alone, but most college students think that if the professor is going to be lazy and put the test on line, then they're going to be lazy and work on the test with friends. I'm not saying it's right, please don't take it as that, but to act like this is something that only happens with football players at FSU is ignorant at the least.

Update: 11 of the suspended players have starting expirence. But it is confirmed that none of the major contributors on offense will be missing the game. Defense looks to be hit the hardest.

This is proof that Bowden is really getting too old to coach anymore. Back in the day, this never would have happened. By that I mean the scandal would have never become public of course! ;)

Hopefully with the new AD and the endoresment of Fisher as Coach in three years (hopefully), change is underway. I just hope they don't have to hit rock bottom before they come back up.

Yep. Only "IF" you think everybody is racist. I have no clue who the 24 players are but I'm sure some are white.

I'm as white as a snow fall and was called a thug for standing up to some dumb azz cutting in line at Circut City last Saturday. xcoffeex

thug

1810, "member of a gang of murderers and robbers in India who strangled their victims," from Marathi thag, thak "cheat, swindler," Hindi thag, perhaps from Skt. sthaga-s "cunning, fraudulent," possibly from sthagayati "(he) covers, conceals," from PIE base *(s)teg- "cover" (see stegosaurus). Transferred sense of "ruffian, cutthroat" first recorded 1839. The more correct Indian name is phanseegur, and the activity was described in Eng. as far back as c.1665. Rigorously prosecuted by the British from 1831, they were driven from existence, but the process extended over the rest of the 19c.

The report stated that 11 have starting experience (but since they won't name names there's no way of telling how many games they've started) 7 are walk-ons, 4 weren't on the two deep depth chart, and 1 was a second teamer, 2 others were already inelgible.

And South Florida is on the rise. People laughed a few years ago when I stated that USF would become a rising star program in the state of Florida and eventually surpass Miami and FSU. It looks like that star has risen.

Most of the O-Line was young this year, there weren't many seniors starting. On the two deep depth chart as of 11/15 there were 5 seniors on offense (3 starters), 5 senoirs on defense (1 starter), and 3 seniors on special teams (all starters). Bobby has been playing young kids for the past few years, not by choice.

They are on the rise, but they have to prove that they can consistently recruit with those teams. Right now USF doesn't have a foothold on Tampa and the Bay Area. Kids are still going to FSU and Miami, but now more and more of the top kids are leaving the state. Greg Schiano recruits Florida hard. N.C. State had a pipeline from Chamberlin High (Tampa) kids in town haven't came around to USF. The top QB in town will probably early commit to UF.

This needs to be updated. A total of 36 FSU players will not be going to Nashville because of injury or cheating scandals. FSU will really be down to bare minimums.

I understand your point, but I don't think anyone said that only FSU football players cheat. I don't like any naive professor allowing this stuff to go on either. Cheating is wrong, period. The ramifications for FSU football players who receive four years free learnin', plus room & board, and who cheat should be severe. Like, how about repaying all that free tuition? Kick them off the team, too.
