Well, in addition to returning to their decades old tradition of getting absolutely a$$-hammered in bowl games, which is sure to happen now that that Rodriguez and his top 2 lieutenants have left, WVU has little to look forward to:

Even if WVU manages to get the full $4M buyout from Rich Rod, the job has suddenly lost about 90% of it's appeal. Orson Swindle (http://www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com) put it best about the frustrations of Rodriguez was experiencing:
This was one of the swirling rumors surrounding the departure of Coach [Rodriguez]: that he didn’t get along with WVU AD Pastilong because of unfulfilled promises and an overall high-handedness, including reneging on some basic, teeny little details like allowing players to keep their textbooks at the end of the semester. This doesn’t seem like big ***** until you think of it in terms of say, your roommate’s inability to transport an empty coke can from the coffee table to the trash can. Do it once, and it’s an oversight; do it for six years, and it’s a testament to their complete contempt for you and themselves.

Not to mention all the guys who have an extra year or so, like Pat White and so on. Might just bolt for the NFL now.

I bet they find a good coach. Tommy Bowden is an intriguing name that i wouldn't mind seeing there. He got screwed at Auburn after doing a great job when he inherited the mess left over from the Pat Dye era. He has close roots in Morgantown so there is some long term potential there. I'd consider WVU a top 10-15 job right now. They should be playing for the national title but choked. They are in many ways the premier program in their conference and have very loyal fans. Rodriquez has shown you can recruit southern talent to WV.

I think you mean Terry Bowden. Sweet Jesus, I hope they don't want to hire Tommy.

If your gonna ultimately end up at that position, what difference does it make when you come out? xconfusedx

I really hate this WVU ... I pull for WVU among others (LSU UGA) as long as they do not play APP ... and I really hate it for em ... this was a big hit

It means everything. And by everything I mean money (based on draft position).

I understand that point, my response was an answer to Peems' question about going to the NFL and being turned in to a reciever.

I agree. I can't believe a guy who had WVU in his blood did that. It's not like he needed more money. There's a point at which having more money isn't really that significant and I think he was already at it. I've heard that WVU didn't do some things it promised to do...but still. This is really sad.
