Love that Cortland is in it first time! I have actually been through Cortland looking for auto wash site last Feb. Nice upstate town. A good friend of mine Chris Betting of CBRE who is doing the Tidal Wave Auto Wash brokerage is a alum from Cortland. GO RED DRAGONS!!

Someone tell me how Salem Va gets D3 championship bid after they said they were moving away from there?

The D3 national championship game, unlike the DI-AA/FCS and D2 national title games, is rotating around different sites from year to year. Last year it was relatively nearby (for you and me, Pards Rule) in Annapolis, MD, but in 2024 I believe it is in Texas.
I think the NAIA championship game is in Durham, NC for the second year in a row. (Speaking of NAIA, I have no idea why they scheduled their game for a non-holiday Monday at 12:00 PM ET. Having a paid stream may not be the best idea either, though ESPN, which almost entirely ignores NAIA even compared to D2 and D3, may have forced their hand by eliminating ESPN3, the broadcasting site for recent NAIA championship games, and having all streaming-only content on paid ESPN+.)

Thanks Chip...what do they get at the Stagg Bowl in attendance?
It appears generally in the 3-6K person range, though it has trended downward in recent years (the one exception being when a Texas-based team played in a championship game held in Texas).

Iowa Western are the Reivers- a river pirate. East Mississippi are the Lions, located in Scooba. They used to have a coach called Robert Victor "Bull" "Cyclone" Sullivan. Sports Illustrated, when it was still a respectable publication, had an article about him- "The Toughest Coach There Ever Was". Well worth reading if you get the chance.

I've gone by what I think is East Mississippi's north campus; it is located between Starkville (where Mississippi State is located) and Columbus, MS, not too far from the Golden Triangle Regional Airport (which I used a few times when my brother was in graduate school at Mississippi State). (Scooba, where East Mississippi's (presumed) main campus is located, is probably 50 miles further south.)
Regarding that D2 game between Johnson C. Smith and Fort Valley State, it is the inaugural Florida Beach Bowl, one of four D2 bowl games. (The other three D2 bowl games were held on December 1st or 2nd.) Both teams are 7-3 entering the game.
Both games kick off a stretch where between college football and the NFL there will be at least one football game played every day except one from today (Wednesday, December 13th) through Monday, January 1st. The exception day is next Wednesday, December 20th.

It looks like the Keiser (FL)/Northwestern (IA) NAIA championship game is available for free streaming on ESPN3.
As I put the game on, Northwestern was just scoring a touchdown. Keiser leads 24-21 about halfway through the 4th quarter.

Update - Keiser returned the ensuing kickoff, a squib kick, for a touchdown, to take a 31-21 lead.

Keiser upsets Northwestern 31-21 in the NAIA championship game. It is Keiser's first NAIA national title.
The #1 teams in D3, D2, and NAIA all played in their classification's championship game, entering those games undefeated. All three teams (Colorado School of Mines in D2, Northwestern (IA) in NAIA, North Central (IL) in D3) lost.
Beware South Dakota State (and for that matter Michigan)!
