TOWSON, Md. – Towson University swimmer Brian Benzing has been named CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week, announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. The senior continued his incredible season, winning four individual events and four relays at the Patriot Invitational while setting seven pool and eight meet records. The senior posted a time of 51.48 in the 100 breast, which is the third-fastest time in the nation this season. He added victories in the 200 IM (1:43.66), which ranks 22nd nationally, the 200 breast (1:54.64), which ranks 24th nationally, and the 100 fly (46.21), which ranks 30th nationally. Benzing was part of pool and meet records in the 400 free, 200 medley, 400 medley and 200 free relays, with the 200 free relay team breaking a school record with a time of 1:18.90.
