Tyrone Nix, Defensive Cord., for South Carolina, withdrew his name from a sure HEAD COACHING POSITION at USM to take the DEFENSIVE CORDINATOR position at OLE MISS with Huston Nutt.

Tyrone Nix is returning to Mississippi, but not to Southern Miss.
Nix will be the defensive coordinator at Ole Miss, new Rebels’ coach Houston Nutt announced today.
Nix, a former USM player and assistant who has been the defensive coordinator at South Carolina the past two seasons, signed a two-year contract worth about $300,000 per year. Nutt said Nix should be able to start recruiting for Ole Miss Wednesday.
