A standout Hornet football student-athlete, David D. Jones is 12th among Delaware State tight ends and 12th in team history with 101 receptions. In 1990, he set the Delaware State single-season mark for receiving yards at 104.9 per game when he became the first player in team history with 1,000 or more receiving yards in a season (1,049), eclipsing the mark previously held by Hornet great John Taylor (949).
