Bonds’ pride led to this dilemma

Slugger had a chance to come clean, but ego got in way

Hubris has been the bane of many a hero.

It took down Bellerophon, who became so enamored of himself he thought he deserved to saddle up Pegasus and ride up to Olympus to party with the gods. Zeus had other ideas, however, and Bellerophon was awarded a life sentence of misery as a blinded cripple.

But hubris does not apply solely to Greek mythology, as a certain Giants slugger with the body of Apollo has found out. Barry Bonds sought out his own Olympus, but the modern day Zeus — the United States federal government — is aiming to shoot him down.

Bonds has been indicted on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice for alleged false testimony he gave to a grand jury. He faces arraignment on Friday, and later a possible trial should he refuse to cut a deal. If convicted, he likely faces — according to experts — about a year in prison.

The sad thing is, if it weren’t for Bonds’ hubris, this whole saga could be over by now.

Assuming that he is guilty (and it is posible that he is not) this situation is very similiar to what happened to Bill Clinton and Martha Stewart.

Their ultimate downfall was lying, not the alleged crime that they lied about.

Witch hunt.

4 year's of "He took roid's" and now they come up with this.
What they gonna do.
Say he didn't say he didn't know he was NOT using flexseed oil. xlolx

This is so transparent it's it's funny now.
A list of MLB player's roid purchases came out a couple month's ago.
1 pitcher got an extension on his contract and the "comeback Kid" ain't even been mentioned.

Guess nobody is interested in that since BOND's name was not on it.
xlolx xlolx xlolx xlolx xlolx xlolx xlolx xlolx

OH well Bonds.
Get it over with and tell the MLB and these so called fan's to kiss yo arse.
Have fun spending your money. xthumbsupx

Even in worst case, how much of the 10's of million's will Bond's have left after a stay in a summer camp for grownup's.xlolx

Bond's is so rich he probably ain't worried about making .50 cent a day.
Bond's probably got more in his personal checking account than You, Me and 3 other people on this board has made in their entire lives.

But anywho....................xlolx

All that still don't change the fact that this is nothing but a witch hunt for all to see. xthumbsupx

I'd like to see them turn it over to the IOC to take care of the punishment and the record books. Bonds...........gone, McGwire...........gone, Sosa............gone, Palmiero...........gone etc

Of course that's if they are guilty of cheating. ;) xlolx

So do I and I think it is disgusting how people make excuses for this a-hole. He cheated, plane and simple, the proof is written on his cap size.
