I am looking at Ill St, but they have played nobody except SDSU, and got thumped. And lost to an ok, not great E Ill St. On my watch list but not worthy yet. I think they are just looking at a better record than others. NH is not really worthy either, right now. On watch list, but got warts.

I agree the order is pretty bad, but at least they have 20+ of the right teams on the list. That is much better than many Coaches rankings I have seen in the past.

Not the best AGS poll this week.

If UNH has warts, the Citadel has impetigo on top of Leprosy.

Except nobody, including me, think we should be ranked. Many people are either voting for or thinking of voting for NH, including me. Big difference in a discussion on a poll, huh? In other words, we are irrelevant to the discussion.

There are a few teams that "appear" good, and they may be, but either have a horrendously weak schedule or a face palm loss, or eyebrow raising close game. These don't all apply to NH, but a meh schedule and Towson kept me from ranking them this week with a mere .500 record.

I fully understand your point of view in THIS post, as well as why a voter could reasonably choose to rank, or not rank, UNH at this point. Personally, I did rank UNH 23rd and Albany 24th.

Towson is a very competitive team. They played Maryland tough and lost to them by about the same score as Michigan State and Indiana did. They were stopped on the 1 yard line on a play at the end of their Albany game that would have sent it to OT. Towson is not a weak team. Taking Towson and 10 pts @ William and Mary was the right call this week in the AGS Pick-em.

The other two teams in the CAA UNH has played are arguably the two best so far this season. We beat one and lost to the other. (Albany and Delaware) the loss on the road and the win at home - both very close games. UNH QB Max Brosmer is #2 in passing yards per game and #1 in TD passes in all of FCS. RB Dylan Laube is # 1 in FCS for "all purpose yards".

Fair assessment .. playing YSU on road. We think we're finally finding our stride on both sides of ball. SDSU was horrendous start defensively. Down 20-0 after Q1 (incl RZ fumble by our offense), we got our offensive moving Q2, and made it a game after Q1 and in 2d half. We had 2 drives down 13 with chance to cut it to 6 for 15 minutes in 2nd half. So it wasn't like they put the game on ice .. they were still trying pull away in Q3, before they eventually scored at 10 min mark in Q4 to make it 40-21. We played them as tough as UND did.

This YSU game was circled on my calendar back in August .. except I gave our EIU game like 90% win probability ... so that one hurt. Otherwise, we feel like we're on ok teack again after laying that egg.

We shall see .... but our offense is much improved from last year, and our defense is slowly finding itself. Great stats but against weak SOS. So YSU on road will be our best test of the season to this point.
