Think everyone around here was a little shocked. And not too sure that Ark is much better than WF, but guess he really wanted to be in the SEC and more of a spotlight.

Arkansas is a much better job than Wake---Wake is one of the smallest FBS schools at barely 4,000 students , and has some tough admission standards. It is really hard to win at Wake, and i cant blame him for moving

Just saying that right now both schools are about equal as far as their standings in each conference and talent level. And yeah we are a small school, but getting in to the school to me has little to do with getting on the football team (goes for most upper college programs it seems).
I'm sure he has a better/larger talent pool to pull from at Ark though and I can't really blame him for leaving, I'm sure the upsides were good.

That is incorrect. Schools like Wake, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Duke, Rice, Northwestern, and even Notre Dame have much higher academic standard for football players than most of the FB powers. They just have a smaller pool of potential recruits and many are off limits for so-so academic performance.

"Head Coach Jim Grobe will not leave Wake Forest for Arkansas, said Athletic Director Ron Wellman in a phone interview this morning.
Wellman said that the rumors coming out of Arkansas were not true and that Grobe told him this morning that he would not leave the university. “He (Grobe) slept on it last night and told me this morning,” said Wellman."

Good. If he had accepted the job, I would have posted something along the lines of:
"Jim Grobe said that he's excited about the Arkansas job and looks forward to being fired in 5 to 7 years!"
It's a tough job that sent even Ken Hatfield packing. They have more than their fair share of a-hole fans. Whereas Wake Forest is happy to have any fans. Something better will come along. Hell, if Grobe wants to upgrade, Georgia Tech is hiring.

Even though it's a tougher gig in Fayetteville, coaching in the SEC would be a big step up. Especially the way Ark. is set up, being the only big time football school in the state... while there is pressure to perform, and stiff competition in the SEC... the Ark. job would be tough to turn down. (and don't try to say that Ark. St. or UAPB is in this equation, you know it's not true)
