Some of your choices I agree with, others should be filled with older players, e.g.:

WR - Joe Douglass (his seasonal totals dwarf Jimmy Farris', he only had two seasons with Griz, though, so his career numbers weren't as good--as much as I liked Jimmy)

DB - I'd have to go with Hitter Hauck here, or even Vince Huntsberger, both of whom were 2-time Big Sky Defensive Players of the Year

I think I can speak for most fans that opposed SDSU. I hated this guy. He was so low to the ground it was impossible to get him wrapped up and driven backwards. Only shot you had was to swarm the O-line and pinch him in. And most of the time that didn't even work.

There was a great article in the Chicago Tribune last year profiling the coaching tree spawned by Darrell Mudra at Eastern Illinois. The number of NFL coordinators and head coaches who got their start under "Doc V" - either via direct hire or being hired by one of Mudra's hires after he left - is amazing for an FCS school.

Someone else earlier in the thread mentioned former GSU QB Tracy Ham. He was easily one of the most athletic, and dominant, FCS offensive players I can remember. UNI played GSU in the dome in the quarterfinals in '85 or so, and he single-handedly beat us in a shootout

I played DE in that game. We lost our starting DT in the EWU quarterfinal game and had to start a true freshman. It could have been a different game if we had him. It sucked going head to head against Ham. Besides Cap'n Cat xnodx , Ham was the best football player I've ever seen in my life. He was brilliant.

Its a generational thing, Beasley is ASU's all time leading WR by maybe 100 yards over Fowlkes. How about some old school consideration? HAHA.

Fowlkes would fit better in todays offense. The game was a lot different in '78-80.

I don't know about the 50's but in the early 70's they had a DB named Rock Fournet that hit so hard they gave him a black helmet and of course everyone else wore gold. xnodx

Not joking. Bennett was a back that gave us balance in 2003 (Jenkins was also good). I have not seen catches like Bolers since he played. He dropped some easy ones or he could have been higher.

What you picked is a very good bunch of players. As for DT, who is your top? I would think Tilleman or Sienze (sp, can't remember how to spell his name).

Yea, I do realize that they are all DE's, also all of my offensive linemen are tackles. I guess i kinda just followed suit with what they do with the FBS all-american teams (this year they have 4 OTs and 1 center), and yes, if i were to choose a DT i would probably select Alan Saenz.
