Glad to see the Mocs stay in the poll. I know they now have 2 losses, but if WCU is top-10 then the Mocs IMO are probably more like top-20 rather than 25. UTC will also have chances to move back up with some big games still to go.

Weber State should not be ranked. and W&M at 11 is a slap in the face to 14 other teams.

Agree. Weber State should get exactly zero votes in this poll. I still have W AND M in my poll but nowhere near where they are in this poll.

NAU handily beats Montana, loses by 1 to Sac, and handily beats Weber. Trending upwards. Yet Montana is rated and they aren’t? Crazy. Not a NAU fan but that makes zero sense.

You can't have BBQ at #22 and UM at #16 (and Sac St @ #4, really) if NAU is only barely ORV.
I've been much lower on W&M than the polls all year.
The other "lil darling" I'm losing faith on is UIW. On one of the threads last week someone asked if another team had UIW's schedule/results, would they be as highly ranked. I compared them to UCA, who had a very similar type of schedule. Both played FBS to 14pt losses (with UCA's loss to a better team), both played a Bishop-Sycamore type team, both played ACU (UCA thumped 'em by 35 at home, while UIW won by 7 on the road), and UIW had played Northern Colorado, while UCA had played @NDSU and @SUU (a team better than their records makes them seem) going 1-1. If you call thumping NoCo and eking out a 2pt road W over SUU a wash, it basically came down to common opponent ACU and UCA clearly performed better. This weekend UIW beats winless SELA by only 7 at home (for reference, SELA lost to EWU, ranked #21, by 11) while UCA beat SEMO by 5 (more than SIU and EKU combined). I'd say SEMO is better than SELA, but let's call last weekend's results a wash again. Even though Central Arkansas has a clear leg up on the common opponent metric and a wash for all the other games (except for having the NDSU game as an "extra" so far, relative to UIW), UIW is #7, while UCA is only #20. Someone make this make sense without using, "Last year...." as the reasoning.

NAU made a change at QB before the UM game and have been trending up. UM made a change at QB after the NAU game and is also trending up. Not to oversimplify things. But it does make one wonder... if the QB both are using now had been at the helm all year, how high would each be ranked? Griz may be 6-0 (or perhaps still 5-1 with the loss to NAU) but probably wouldn't have the "close losses" to Butler, Ferris and Idaho State that dragged them down. NAU would probably be 3-3 (they were way down to UTU, 31-7, when the QB change was made from what I gather from the box score, so they outscored UTU 29-19 after that) and maybe 4-2 with still beating UM.

Incarnate Word is a slight mystery to me too, but they keep winning so its hard to drop them in my poll, they started out fairly high.

"They" have Albany #24, I got the Danes #7....hmm.....

The Danes are a 15-20 team. If we win at UNH, during homecoming...with our injuries, then we are a 10-15 team.

Better than the Coaches' Poll, where Albany is just receiving votes, and fewer than Fordham. At least we have more than Villanova

and with UNH season on line. Another rainy Saturday, not sure how soon it will make it up North, but possible steady and heavier rains here in NJ

would be VERY rare for a team 2-4 to be ranked no? Clearly they are competitive and probably even good, but 2-4 even with what you said being true just does not seem to happen. Not "up" on Nau but looking at last year's results seem they did nearly the same thing. Lost to FBS, beat a decent sam houston team, 3 pt loss to ranked North Dakota, another random couple wis and a few more very close losses including ONLY a 3 pt loss to Montana State and 2 pt loss to Weber state both top 10 teams.. yet 3-8. Pretty dam good 3-8 team , yet 3-8. Probably would be 8-3 or 9-2 or better in The CAA

Some valid points. I don’t believe they should be ranked, but with their last three weeks, the have outperformed Montana, and they didn’t squeak by them, Montana shouldn’t be ranked.
Let me ask you this. Team X, a bubble team, gets into the playoffs at 7-4, starting the season 0-4. Team Y, is undefeated. They both make it to the National Championship and X wins. Who is the National Champion? Do you give the gold medal to a second place finisher, thought to be number one, or the team that won?
