Had a couple of key injuries to the secondary that will be a killer against Tech if the #2's do not step up. Good article though.
Sam Houston State dealing with injuries after loss to Houston
By Cody Stark/Assistant Sports Editor
Even though Sam Houston State gave Houston all it could handle Saturday night, the Bearkats lost more than just a football game.
Starting free safety Braylon Linnear, who went down with a knee injury late in the first quarter, is out indefinitely. Linnear has a possible torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), but the severity of the injury will not be known until after his scheduled MRI today.
"Braylon hurt his knee in the Houston game, and until we get the complete test results, he is out indefinitely," SHSU head coach Todd Whitten said. "It looks like he did some damage to his ACL."
As if the possibility of losing Linnear for the season wasn't enough, the Bearkats will be without another starting defensive back heading into Saturday's showdown with Texas Tech in Lubbock.
Chadd Oliphant, the starting strong safety, dislocated his arm against the Cougars. His injury doesn't appear to be serious, but he will more than likely miss this week and could possibly be out longer.
