Sac Sts Fred (Otis) Amey returned a punt for a TD vs the Rams last week. I hated him at Sac and now I hate him even more for beating my Rams!

What's with changing his name to Otis?? :confused:

I didin't get the scoop on that, I just saw it briefly when they mentioned he changed his name from Fred. I don't know the reasoning behind it. :confused:

Pretty soon everyone will realize more and more that I-AA is an NFL All Star factory.

According to this article from the San Jose Mercury (http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/local/states/california/northern_california/12620582.htm), Amey is named after his grandfather, Fred Otis Amey. Throughout his life he had always preferred to be called by his middle name, but during one class at Sac State a substitute teacher called roll and asked for "Fred Amey," and so his teammates called him that from then on. Since joining the 49ers, Amey has returned to being known as Otis Amey.
