I was optimistic about the WCU game but was worried about how well the Charleston Southern D has looked in some of their other games. Coach Bell has been very critical of Western's offense not scoring TDs and leaving points on the field against both Samford and EKU. WCU's defense didn't look good on the last drive, but CSU stalls around the 20, takes a sack, and then misses the FG. WCU still up 21-0 early in the 2nd quarter and have the ball for the 4th time.

Unless a miracle happens in this game, we can stick a fork in Samford's season. 4 games in and they have zero D1 wins, and 0-2 in the SoCon. They need to win out just to get to 7-3 (they do have a win over Shorter that doesn't count toward playoff eligibility). They do play Furman, Mercer, & UT Martin so they still can build a good resume if they win out. But they need to win out, 6-1 probably isn't going to cut it.

both an ugly win for VMI and ugly loss for Wofford, VMI threw one pass in 2nd half: it slipped from Ironside's hands, Wofford with the INT> at VMI's 25. then, on their FG attempt, snap is not good, VMI ball,

earlier in the 4th, wofford had 1st down at their own 13, go four wides, VMI defenders spread the field, simple handoff and the back goes 87 yards for TD.

wofford's last drive (VMI set a record in 2nd half for 3 and outs....Rocco played not to lose, made the defense do the work), got to the VMI 33, QB was hit as he attempted a pass, it hit the ground a few yards downfield, refs. consulted, throw the flag for grounding. Since the clock read 00:08, the 10-second run off ended the game.

This week SEMO was tied and were trying to move the ball down the field. DeLaurent got pressured and fumbled. More just bad break/credit EKU for making a play IMO. As far as last week, if you DON'T put the ball in Hess's hands at the end of the game when nursing a lead someone needs to get fired, you don't expect him to cough it up. And to be honest last week I thought SIU got a break on that fumble as I thought his forward progress was stopped well before the fumble.

I know the tables will eventually turn and we'll be kicking ass and not constantly eating bobcat ****, but right now that feels so far away.

But in the meantime it looks like I'm checking out of Griz football early this year. Maybe we'll get our **** together next year (probably not).

The Big Sky is a 3 horse race...Same here, I dropped both WSU and Montana out of my polls, I watched a few games with these guys and was not impressed at all with either team, both are horrid on offense. I also dropped Davis primarily because of their current resume but I think they win the EWU game if their RB didn't get hurt during the game, I have EWU, MSU, Idaho, and Ball Sac State as BSC teams in my top 25. Watched the MSU/BBQ game and MSU is light years better than Weber.
