Who are the 5 top paid coaches in FCS?
Count everything as well, not just what the school pays.
Any guesses?

This would difficult to find accurate information on because a lot of schools booster programs don't release this information.

I think Coach Bohl makes 119K base plus he gets performance incentives, hard to see him staying much longer unless that increases.

Don't count on Hauck being in the top 5 or even 10, the University system in Montana doesn't pay all that well.

I think if it's a public institution, then you are allowed to see their salary (depending on the state). Otherwise I don't know how people get all the information on coacheshotseat.com
I know Coach Wright at TxSt gets around 150k, probably some other perks too.

Keeler's up there in all likliehood.
I believe Keeler is tops in 1-AA & is around the 350K mark, which is still much lower than Tubby made before he retired. The old Tubster was the highest paid state employee in the First State.

That's the number I've heard, and I guess it means that there is at least one person associated with GSU that has something to thank our former coach for.

Sources say that Old Dominion's new coach, Bobby Wilder, has a package that includes a base salary, radio-television stipend, an annuity paid by ODU’s Intercollegiate Foundation, and income from his summer camp. Best guess his total salary is valued between $170,000 and $200,000 a year. Not bad for a coach who won't play his first game until fall of 2009.xthumbsupx

Bohl makes about $210K after coaches shows, camps, etc. I think his base is 135-145k.

SU's coach Pete Richardson base is $200,000 plus bonus that could bump him to $250,000. He has a TV show and $20,000 a year housing allowance, plus car's for him and his assistance, which are not included in that figure. Look for SU's next coach to make $300,000 plus.

UC Davis' Bob Biggs has a base of just over 151k, accord to this article (http://media.www.californiaaggie.com/media/storage/paper981/news/2007/05/24/Sports/Showing.The.Money.Big.West.Head.Coach.Salaries-2907364.shtml) from May 2007.

Billk that surprises me since Tubby was old school, not that Im doubting what you posted (Im sure it's correct) after all, he earned it putting all those fannnies in seats and the real growth of UD football came during his era. I never knew. I guess all those years of success got him the dough.

Looking at all the other amounts posted I am surprised we have a coach like Hauck. I know here that the Uof M's annual budget it "public Information" so anyone can see this infromation. Bobby makes about 130K a year plus vehicles and other little perks like a weekely TV show and some other things but all together I think it is about 150K. Not much. Don't let the coaches see this post. We might be looking to hire a new coach from a D-2 school for the amount we are willing to pay. Way to go Uof M, good coach for pennies on the dollar. xviolinx

Clint Conque, head coach at new member of the FCS University of Central Arkansas just got a raise. Seems to be on par with most of the country minus those high dollar coaches in the FCS.
From today's Arkansas Democrat Gazette.
All of the coaches, including Conque, received a bonus equivalent to 55 percent (the Bears ’ winning percentage this season ) of one month’s salary. That means that Conque’s salary this past season, including $ 32, 500 for his television show and a bonus of $ 5, 367. 08 for the winning percentage, was $ 154, 967. 08.
.....well deserved for the immense job of moving an entire football program from division II to the FCS in my opinion. xthumbsupx

How is that sad? FCS programs do not generally make any money, in fact they lose tons. FCS coaches should be happy with what they get.
Does anyone have any concrete info on what these head coaches make? It would take a lot of work to pull these numbers up.

Mickey Matthews at JMU is up in the top 10, around $200,000 I believe.
You should ask for some of that back after he went for it against Appy on his own 30...I don't like Mickey as he is pretty full of himself, but a good coach, though the call to go for it against Appy was STUPID.
With all of the "perks" coaches get..as mentioned, it is tough to really tell. But base salary/incentive pay should be easy to fine.

JMU was 4 of 4 on fourth down for the day before that play, with each play going for more than 5 yards. They had not been able to stop Edwards all day... 3 JMU linebackers were injured in the game, there was a backup safety playing linebacker. Which do you think gives you a better chance to win??????? Look at it objectively, it was definately the right choice based on the game.
