we are now 3-4 with losses to FBS, Campbell, Lafayette and ow Elon. Wins over Hampton and Lehigh big and Towson. Hypothetically if we won out to go 7-4 it would mean beating W&M on the road (another team playing for their life) beating SB and you guys (UNH) at home the Albany on road. That would be 7-4 with wins over UNH, Towson, Albany and W&M and losses to possible Patriot champ, FBS, Campbell and 2 pts to Elon. IMO that is a good resume but it would most likely be put up against other 7-4 teams like possible Nova, UNH, Richmond, W&M and the rest of the country.

7-4 will basically have to make it if this is going to be more then 2 bid league IMO..

hahah- technically yes, it would be the far side of our one sided "stadium"- the scoreboard side or west side to be more clear. In reality there may not even be 2k fans there so sit where you want!

I meant two bid, but after going back and looking I take it back MAYBE. There is a shot though man. But assume Delaware wins the conference, There is a decent chance at this point W&M will not make it. If they get a 4th loss they should not. Albany should be in, thats two. Nova is not a lock they still have UNH, Delware and Towson. They could def lose 2 or eve 3? I have been told by everyone multiple times that a 7-4 CAA team will not make it? I argued for it but was rebuffed. UNH is the last remaining team to stay probable at 3 losses but still has URI (looking down) and Nova and frankly MU game is no lock. Elon gets a 5th loss and no shot. It is feasible it is a 2 bid league but unless something absolutely nuts happens, no more than 3. Nobody even looks great after Del and Albany- UNH may be the best team after that.. Not hating, but tell me whats wrong with my thesis here..

This. A team that returned tons and tons of starters. Before the Yoder loss did not look good on offense, QB not playing well. Team not disciplined, way too many penalties, and at crucial times, typically a roughing or unsportsmanlike call after the defense has made a third down stop, thus extending opponent drives. Long term fans would remember the Laycock years, not always the best athletes on the field, but disciplined, and focused on execution.

And speaking about Laube, he wasn't 100% vs Albany and was used almost exclusively as a decoy in the 1st half. He was taken out in 4th Qtr vs SB, likely just to give him some rest. The guys that replaced him, Seide and Thomason did well. Also since his kickoff return for a TD vs Delaware, no one has been kicking the ball anywhere near him. Vs SB the SB kicker could kick it through the end zone with a 30 MPH wind to his back, but his one kick into the wind he just kicked it out of bounds. Albany either kicked it short, and to the opposite side of the field from Laube, or they also kicked one, if not two, out of bounds.

The kick out of bounds penalty just plain sucks now. They place the ball on the 35, no questions asked. The receiving team should have a choice between taking it on the 35, or a 5 yard penalty back and make the kicking team re-kick - which was the way it used to work.

Defense was always a question mark after our offseason losses. If you slow down our offense enough our defense isn't good enough to shut a team down.

Actually attended the UAlbany vs Rhody game this weekend. QB 7 is hitting his stride! Other than the one pick he played almost a perfect game. Our running attack was strong with two backs getting 100 yards. Defense played very well and got a good home victory. Nothing against Rhody since they have had our number the last couple of years but I thought they should of been better. The game was never in doubt. They looked lost after it went 28-3 in the second qtr. Another long road trip awaits. Heard a rumor Saturday the team may leave for Maine on Wednesday to rest up after a long trip.

Hampton was indeed a bad football team, but everyone in the first state forgot they were without their starting QB and HR hitting Freshman RB and who knows who else. They did beat Richmond but have thrown in the towel on the season … it’s in the body language and actually happened at Monmouth… they quit

similar to a boxer who gets KO's but "needs" rounds to get experience, I imagine a small part of carty is welcoming some tougher games. DEL has taken care of business cannot help their schedule but man it has been an easy one.. Obvi credit on the UNH win and putting lesser away but I am sure he wats to see how they respond more in depth to being tested... I think?

You know there’s a fine line between totally normal and crazy and I think that’s where Delaware is right now.

I look at them and can see them becoming a really special team but they could also lose three of the next four games and be out of the playoffs.

Remember when I said they had the best receivers in the CAA? Well their best 2 Wimberly and Harvin, are hurt. Great job by Carly this off-season picking up a lot depth at the WR position.

Also, Ryan O’Connor the starting quarterback is injured and did not play at Hampton. The back up looked pretty good though, but we will really know after the Towson game.

I look at them and can see them becoming a really special team but they could also lose three of the next four games and be out of the playoffs.

I am not as bulled up on Towson as you. They are gritty and have competed well but when you look at them play, IMO it does not awe you, I think they are just riding an us against world thing with a style of play that ends up being tough.. Is that really good small RB for them still hurt? Got hut agaist albany missed whole 4th qtr..dont get me wrong they are not a bad team and I know who they beat but I watched that W&M game, man W&M looked bad, but that very well could be Towson's doing-- I HATE the fact that we get elon and W&M on road back to back with each team coming off of awful loss and season on line. That stuff matters. For example, I think almost everyone beats Elon with the QB who played against Nova. Such is football and such is life and in reality its The CAA. "When" you play a team matters was explained to me and I agree and disagree. I agree more in the sense of what the team is playing for. Like Hampton quit but we made them quit. We beat Towson before they "got hot" which matters but we also did not let them get hot. With Elon ad W&M two programs with expectations at home its a very tall task to go in and end their season as opposed to getting them when they are 6-1 ad maybe looking past.I may take heat for that but if someone can take away bias it does make some sense..This is a really fun and interesting CAA race. Ay cue if Delawares guys are hurt hurt like miss multiple games or nicked?

Hen injuries
WR Wimberly- the Harvard transfer and a good one, injured knee in New Hampshire game
WR Harvin - was just getting healthy but hurt lower leg vs NC A&T

both of those WRs were big playmakers but Delaware still has some good WRs including Townsend, Youngblood, Bermudez and Lutz

DT/NG Hunter - took a scary helmet to helmet hit vs A&T and taken off field by ambulance but released from hospital that night. Reported to be doing well

Starting QB Ryan O’Conner- upper body issue, didn’t play at Hampton. Most fans learned of this right before the game started. The backup looked good but it was Hampton

Albany is 300 miles to Orono, 6 hr bus ride if you guys head Wed and stay in Motels for 3 nights you have way deeper pockets than Maine.

I refuse to pay even 50 cents to read the article so only read "reviews" of it.. Most of the reviews I have read are written by HBCU affiliates and take the comment as racist. I would need more context to conclude that b/c I also see but cannot prove yet, that they speak of Bryant and Campbell too in similar context. At first blush I take it as more of an elitist, "we are better here at Delaware" comment, which frankly they are in many ways. Probably a poor choice of words regardless when referring to a HBCU but not totally sure intended that way. Have the article to post?

Maybe a little off topic but was reading and I thought that there are a bunch of teams in the CAA. Since I get to this site once or twice a week and I am clearly NOT "in the know" I was curious if anyone in "the know" has any idea if they are planning to set up two divisions, North & South? With the new additions of Hampton, NC A&T, Campbell, Bryant etc. there are like 50 teams in one Division.

He gets taken out on all goal line stuff and the other guy has like 12 TD's so even if Sirden had half of those would be on pace for like 18. I have bad feeling he will be a portal casualty too. If we had tons of guys and a QB coming back next year different story bc he loves it there, but losing everyone so would be surprised if he stayed. Speaking of RB's looks like you guys get Towson without D'ago Hunter who is electric. I know you have injuries too, but kid is flashy. I will be very surpised if Towson keeps it within 20- clock struck midnight for cinderalla.

A team can only play who is on the schedule. We are learning that Delaware is 7-1. With UA nipping at their heels. Big game for us next week against Wm & Mary. I for one think Delaware made a statement today. Towson ran into a buzz saw!

You guys should crush W&M. Another game we gave away today. If Albany plays not their "a" game but like their "b+" game, ya'll will win by 24- How was this team ranked so high- goes to show its all BS and perception. W&M has like some weird formational stuff and you need to take good angles and play good assignments, but they are nothing more than a decent caa team, and yes one that beat us, and I still do not know how..Oh yes I do, we cannot execute in the right spots cant kick FG's and other teams who have been there can. Just heart breaking how we ***** the bed every freaking time.

Anyway, I just never liked Towson, I do not care what "team a" does to team b" one week- I watch games and judge myself and there was simply no shot they could hang with UDEL talent and lines. And I am telling you the same thing about W&M.. Yes as fans we always get nervous and feel this will be the week our team will not show up, but Albany is simply a MUCH better football team than W&M like UDEL was to Towson.

So Monmouth, Towson, Campbell and UNH "officially" eliminated from any playoff conversation today. I suppose a 7-4 UNH team could still be in the convo but URI is not losing to A&T at home and Towson will have packed it in by last week of season so URI should also be 7-4. Delaware can eliminate Elon this week and most likely will leaving the Hens, Nova, Albany and Richmond to fight it out with W&M needing some sort of miracle to beat Albany up there (weather turning colder this week)

Congrats to all teams still involved, I am truly sick over the near misses. Time and time again. I really hope the CAA does well in the playoffs this year- I have a weird feeling some "elite" teams not named SDSU are beatable. That is the only team I think is 100% just better.

I agree with most of this. UNH is probably out even at 7-4(5-3) would need a lot of help. Also UNH is more talented than last year and poor coaching and decisions has cost this team multiple games. So frustrating to watch from a fan base who’s used to making the playoffs almost every year.

Yep- Before the season I thought about teams I knew and I saw so many valuable guys coming back and most or all of the studs were back so I thought UNH would be a shoe -in .. To be fair, Football is NOT always about who has the better team, but who can execute stuff when it is really needed and also can come down to dumb luck. But similar to Monmouth, just in a more advanced and better way, UNH just did not get the play or 2 it needed in a few games now. UDEL and Towson were 1 play type games, and ow this today. I feel for you, b/c UNH is 100% a playoff worth team just caught Towson at the wrong time, blew The Hens game, and no clue what happened today but obviously a play or two away. Ad then there is FBS. It is such an awful feeling b/c UNH is so very capable and has the type of team that could win 2 games in the playoffs. I honestly feel that about my team as well but we have this awful issue of refusing to win games that are very close. And despite what others may think it does not even come down to talent, but more like a poker game where just one bad "Call" can FK you.. CAA Football for you. Reeally a bad feeling to be so close. I guess wins over ova, us and Maine can at least keep you interested come selection Sunday but would take some serious CAA bias. UNH is a very good football team who just has not executed in spotts it needed to.

Delaware can eliminate Elon this week and most likely will leaving the Hens, Nova, Albany and Richmond to fight it out with W&M needing some sort of miracle to beat Albany up there (weather turning colder this week)

Congrats to all teams still involved, I am truly sick over the near misses. Time and time again. I really hope the CAA does well in the playoffs this year- I have a weird feeling some "elite" teams not named SDSU are beatable. That is the only team I think is 100% just better.

LOL, I totally get it- whe did You play, I played for MU WAY back graduated in 2000- some of those MU/Albay NEC games after I graduated like 2006 era were awesome- the good old days. I believe you and frankly it is hard to judge RB's on stats alone anyway. Shirden is very good, not quite elite YET. He gets taken out on all goal line stuff and the other guy has like 12 TD's so even if Sirden had half of those would be on pace for like 18. I have bad feeling he will be a portal casualty too. If we had tons of guys and a QB coming back next year different story bc he loves it there, but losing everyone so would be surprised if he stayed. Speaking of RB's looks like you guys get Towson without D'ago Hunter who is electric. I know you have injuries too, but kid is flashy. I will be very surpised if Towson keeps it within 20- clock struck midnight for cinderalla.

A mix of both I would say Bull. But we also had 425 yards against the "best" defense in the CAA- you cannot just take away the big runs, that is a legitimate part of our offense and frankly on those off tackle plays you guys never adjusted and W&M run D looked pretty weak to me- I think that is why we lost. 1st and 10 from the 12 with 1:30 left and we run for 4, so 2nd and 6 from the 8, we have 3 timeouts and can still get a first down.. 2 or even 3 plays to get 6 yards against a D we gashed running the ball all day and def on that drive and what do we do? We throw the ball, get a penalty and now its 2nd and 11 and ***** the bed.. Unreal!

But to go back to the other stuff- Shirden has another year and should have 2 but we decided to play him a little in every game as a freshman rather than redshirt. Most thought he would be gone before this year but he said "it was not in my heart" He and his family seem to love it at MU and likes the attention he gets and I think they know being hypothetically the top back or two in FCS Can and will get you similar looks as being a "good" FBS back he could stay. I think the decision will come down to if he thinks we can compete- my gut tells me he is gone sadly.

I think it is a misnomer to say those runs are what kept us in the game, that sounds like you are calling us lucky or something. The W&M offense second half drives were- PUNT, PUNT, FG, PUNT, TD.. we held you 3 x, forced a FG and let up one awful drive that started at midfield bc of a dumb penalty. We also threw an INT right into your guys arms in the red zone and missed a chip shot FG. I am not trying to start anything you guys won, but that was as even as a game gets and it was no fluke, we just dont know how to win. But yeah, our pass D not great and W&M O line stifled us, that was a big difference, we had little pass rush. Congrats on the win and the best of luck the rest of the way.

Getting healthy works wonders for a football team. This past weekend they had all back that have not had surgery for the first time in a while. Actually, only had two CBs one game. All QBs healthy again, but they burned the freshman's redshirt now, and they started him last week, so guess are all in trying to win out.

Defense has 23 takeaways and 5 defensive TDs, I believe both lead FCS, but have not checked after yesterday's games.

Hampton, they tried to start the #3 QB who is a walk-on after the starter and #2 were not available due to injury versus Stony Brook. They had one first down in the first half vs Hampton and it was via penalty (not going to check but I think it was 8 three and outs for the first half). They then put in the freshman, and he did play Hampton even in the second half, but the defense had to have just got to exhausted in that game and had several out due to injury. The freshman coming in was too little too late, but at least they found out he can play.

As they got healthier, things for now have returned to what folks expected out of them when year started (I hope), excepting Morgan State who I think they took for granted.

Spiders needed their bye in week 4, but it is what it is, so guess they can take a break and finish with Elon and The Tribe and see where the chips fall.

Yep- Before the season I thought about teams I knew and I saw so many valuable guys coming back and most or all of the studs were back so I thought UNH would be a shoe -in .. To be fair, Football is NOT always about who has the better team, but who can execute stuff when it is really needed and also can come down to dumb luck. But similar to Monmouth, just in a more advanced and better way, UNH just did not get the play or 2 it needed in a few games now. UDEL and Towson were 1 play type games, and ow this today. I feel for you, b/c UNH is 100% a playoff worth team just caught Towson at the wrong time, blew The Hens game, and no clue what happened today but obviously a play or two away. Ad then there is FBS. It is such an awful feeling b/c UNH is so very capable and has the type of team that could win 2 games in the playoffs. I honestly feel that about my team as well but we have this awful issue of refusing to win games that are very close. And despite what others may think it does not even come down to talent, but more like a poker game where just one bad "Call" can FK you.. CAA Football for you. Reeally a bad feeling to be so close. I guess wins over ova, us and Maine can at least keep you interested come selection Sunday but would take some serious CAA bias. UNH is a very good football team who just has not executed in spotts it needed to.

Questionable calls occur in every close game, and if you don't think so and have FLO football watch the play in the UNH@ URI game during UNH's 1st OT possession that starts at 3:07:35 and let us know how UNH #8, Caleb Burke, could have committed an Offensive PI from almost ten yards from the catch his teammate made. That bad call made it 2nd and 23 from the 37 rather than 1st and goal from the 5. But that's just what happens in sports that don't rely solely on a stop watch or a measure of distance.

URI keeps itself out of the playoffs year after year after year ... ad infinitum. The seldom need any help from New Hampshire or the referees in doing so.

Minicucci and Brogna for sure, but these parts always been a Delaware staple for some good players. Def hard to recruit against Delaware for us- history, better overall program, gameday experience. Frankly I am shocked we get the guys we do, but there is a secret to how we do it. Not saying it translates to CAA championships (yet) but translates to a lot of individual talent over the years. If the school would put the resources needed into what has to happen to be truly competitive I think within 3-5 years we would be dominant- as it is in year 2 the only team to outclass us has been Delaware. Imagine what a real stadium, lights and real gameday atmosphere would do to keep some better NJ guys to compliment our niche in the DMV area..Our University simply does not fully understand what it takes.. University, not staff. We wet the entire year without a fkin Defensive Coordinator b/c we could not get the money to add another coach so quickly! But yes, Carty has something going and maybe they can became the new JMU before they leave (which I hope they do not, I think that would be a disaster)...

If we can take care of business, Albany has a shot to move up the ladder and an outside shot at the title. It is a little shocking SOLEY based on watching us play Elon, and literally hand them the game and watching some Delaware replays and seeing results. Elon is NOT great. Efficient, capable sure, but now maybe you understand why I was so hyped upon Monmouth- 2 plays away from being 6-3 and controlling own destiny in a league where anything can and does happen and frankly had we played Lafayette on any other day maybe 7-2. Just sick. Anyway, back to you guys- I hear you-you beat upon lesser, some way lesser and have the decent UNH win- so totally unproven. Frankly, if you lose to Nova and beat Campbell an argument can be made you have no good wins- UNH could finish under .500. Great scheduling job by The Hens.. I would be more scared of the Campbell game than Nova at this point, but at the end of the day 1 in and in the playoffs.

We should win. No doubt. You forget the FG off the crossbar when SBU was having a mammoth year and we were absolute shyte? It's a rivalry, full stop. They want nothing better than to EFF us up. The game worries me.

There is no evidence that this Delaware team is anything special or deserved their #5 ranking. They are 1-1 against serious teams with a decent blowout win against an inconsistent Towson. Villanova is not great, but at least they are 3-1 against teams in the playoff conversation.

Make it 16 of the last 18 in the Battle of the Blue! We didn't just exorcise our demons in Durham just to lose the edge to Delaware.

Elon totally outplayed Delaware today, almost all of our fans including myself, had the eggs counted and the game in the bag before today. I knew that WR Braboy would go for 6 and he wasn’t the only problem. Ryan O’Conner started at QB after missing the last 2 games with an injury. Zach Marker was lights out good vs Hampton and Towson, but he got hurt right before halftime last week. Marker needs to be healthy and playing or Delaware will not be going anywhere.

The Danes stadium facility is a gem for anyone who hasn’t been there. Overall a very nice game experience. Expected they would have a larger crowd though to support them yesterday. The report was about 3,500.

The score could have been 31-8 had we not had a TD called back by a questionable call. Our offense seemed pedestrian yesterday. The Defense made an appearance with 6 sacks and 2 picks! I was surprised by Wm & Mary's approach. It was a chippy game for sure and WM looked uninspired.

Get healthy Hens

What's up with the Hens? The quoted post was after the opener vs a really bad Stony Brook and all those players are now hurt or have missed games due to injury.

Kym Wimberly was outstanding for Delaware but only played 3 full games before getting hurt in game 4 vs UNH. We miss him. The offense was struggling with lowly St Francis and The Hens were only up 14-7 with less than a minute before the half. Ryan Oconner takes a bad sack. I was not liking what I was seeing and boom, A little out pass to Wimberly who goes on a spectacular 48 yard jaunt down the sideline as Hen fans were filing out for the bathroom. Just like that it was 21-7 and everyone felt better. I don't really think Wimberly is going to play again this year, just a guess.

Chandler Harvin - big playmaker for the Hens. Duquesne game, offense really not clicking again. All of the sudden Harvin, who was just getting back up to speed after nursing injuries, goes on a 50 yard TD tear that put the Hens up comfortably in the third quarter. Unfortunately, he got hurt during the NC A&T game and has not seen the field since. I think he will play again.

Marcus Yarns - Yarns has exploded on the scene this year and really makes the Delaware offense go, he was also dinged up in the first half yesterday and did not play in the second half.

The QB - Most Hen fans see Zach Marker as the guy now. He started vs Hampton and Towson and really played well. The offense clicks when he plays and his is mobile. With him starting vs Towson, Hens up 35-0 early second quarter. He took a late hit vs Towson and got banged up. He had already been injured in Penn State game. So yesterday he just didn't have the zip and had to sit out the game.

So I claimed that Delaware had best WR group in CAA, and with Marker at QB and despite Wimberly and Harvin being out, Towson got lit up. Yesterday with O'Conner as the QB, it was just not the same.

Delaware needs to get healthy, or they risk losing the next 2 games and potentially missing the playoffs. I think we can beat Campbell even if Marker can't go, but Villanova is a loss until its not.

Delaware has not been a November team either, and if the Hens can't beat The Rhinestone Campbell next Saturday, its ovah

It was TIC, which does not go over well in writing or message board banter. We haven't had something to root for in a bit, and I have kept my comments at bay all year. It was pure sarcasm...though I do think 16-20 is a fair number.
I was extremely surprised by W&M, I watched them play on TV/ONLINE a couple of times and they looked better.

As for the undisciplined part, we were all mad...heck Gattuso was visibly upset...at the players for not keeping emotions in check. It is quite uncharacteristic of this team...so it was an anomaly. Spoke to some folks after the game who said that a W&M player purposefully ran down the UA entranceway, which was specifically excluded to W&M, and it wasn't far before the Danes came out. Game was always going to be emotional and chippy considering what was on the line and also due to the fact it was the Cancer Awareness game and Albany does the pink smoke bit. I heard from multiple folks that the coaches and players were upset before the game started. That said, you need to check that at the door and if I am Gattuso, I point to those penalties because Stony Brook is going to come out and try to ruin our season...and emotions will be high on their side considering it's a Cup game and the way their season went.

So if you don't agree, I'd enjoy reading counter arguments that explain why the conference is not significantly better, and if you don't really have any, stop disparaging the CAA. Well some think we had 15 as the ball carrier certainly looked to break the plane on 3rd and goal. That was a 70 yard drive that got nothing. I think had we scored, I think chances were 50/50 we might have come back to possibly win. As bad as I think we looked, 30+ points is just bloviating.

I cant really argue with most of what you said, however, I think the main gripe about The CAA is relative to other "good" conferences. There is no doubt there is parity, talent, extreme competitiveness and potential in the 2023 CAA. I guess we will never truly know- the only way to know would be to play a Big Sky schedule or vice versa. The rest is just eye test/opinion and the few playoff matchup's we get to see (last year's going very very badly for the CAA hence leading to some CAA tarnish).

I also think the answer lies in the "question" which was more of a statement, but if the CAA is over rated, than all this compeition and parity means little-- average beating average. I am gun shy even replying to this b/c last time you jumped down my throat (didn't take it personally) but the loser of Del/Nova clearly eliminated from seed. If winner of that game wins their game this week (hens have campbell, nova has towson) they will be 9-2 along with Albany who assuming takes care of business would be 9-3- I can def see either one of those teams possibly getting a 7-8 seed as long as they are CAA Champion which has the low possibility of not being the case.

I have bee slightly vocal on saying the CAA seems over rated and ONLY on one basis- the basis which counts the most for each individual and that is MY EXPERIENCE. My experience is via my own team and I see my team week in and week out either beat or play VERY close games with supposed "good" teams, yet based on W/L which I am told is the only thing that matters, I am told we are just some average team. If some average team can take the CAA's best to the wire on a consistent basis, it leads me to believe The CAA is really just a bunch of "decent" teams with a lot of parity, and lacking GREAT teams. Of course this changes year to year but on this board it changes week to week. Towson went from being crap, to "scary" to crap. URI and UNH went from shoe i playoff contenders to marginal. Delaware from elite (even though unproven) to ow supposedly on the fringe. Nova has climbed a wall of worry all year. Albany I guess has delivered. Richmond goes from written off to possible CAA champs. Elon? William and Mary goes from top 5 to probably not even the first 5 out of the playoffs. "On paper" UNH is 2-4 and 4-5 and technically below Hampton!! But UNH in a given week could beat EVERY CAA team. Not sure whether that is good or bad for the CAA or it just means this stuff boils down to luck, b/c UNH is not the 4th worst team in The CAA and I am gonna come out and say it- Monmouth is as good as every single team in the CAA in a give week as well, sans probably Delaware and Albany. So maybe you are right KPSUL, guess just matters the variables and input we use..

I feel very confident in stating that the quality of play is considerably better this year in CAA when comparing it to last year. Just look at the 2022 Co-Champs, W&M and UNH, both on a trajectory to be watching Round 1 playoff games from home. And both these teams were at the very top of FCS in returning strength at the start of this season. Albany and Villanova hardly sniffed the playoff last season and they may be the two best teams in the conference now. Delaware stumbled a bit yesterday, but they still have put up some of the biggest offensive numbers in most of their game. Elon looked very strong based on the observation of 2 DE posters, and despite their fowl association, they both know FCS football!

So if you don't agree, I'd enjoy reading counter arguments that explain why the conference is not significantly better, and if you don't really have any, stop disparaging the CAA. I for one see Albany, Delaware, and Villanova as legitimate contenders for seeds in the 5-8 range and I'm now ranking them that way.

Well some think we had 15 as the ball carrier certainly looked to break the plane on 3rd and goal. That was a 70 yard drive that got nothing. I think had we scored, I think chances were 50/50 we might have come back to possibly win. As bad as I think we looked, 30+ points is just bloviating.

No offense to my Delaware colleagues on AGS, but I think I'll stay the hell off GoHens. You know I like a good online scrap once and awhile but I'm not entering that crazy arena as a newbie disagreeing with their consensus opinion.

I cant really argue with most of what you said, however, I think the main gripe about The CAA is relative to other "good" conferences. There is no doubt there is parity, talent, extreme competitiveness and potential in the 2023 CAA. I guess we will never truly know- the only way to know would be to play a Big Sky schedule or vice versa. The rest is just eye test/opinion and the few playoff matchup's we get to see (last year's going very very badly for the CAA hence leading to some CAA tarnish).

I also think the answer lies in the "question" which was more of a statement, but if the CAA is over rated, than all this compeition and parity means little-- average beating average. I am gun shy even replying to this b/c last time you jumped down my throat (didn't take it personally) but the loser of Del/Nova clearly eliminated from seed. If winner of that game wins their game this week (hens have campbell, nova has towson) they will be 9-2 along with Albany who assuming takes care of business would be 9-3- I can def see either one of those teams possibly getting a 7-8 seed as long as they are CAA Champion which has the low possibility of not being the case.

I have bee slightly vocal on saying the CAA seems over rated and ONLY on one basis- the basis which counts the most for each individual and that is MY EXPERIENCE. My experience is via my own team and I see my team week in and week out either beat or play VERY close games with supposed "good" teams, yet based on W/L which I am told is the only thing that matters, I am told we are just some average team. If some average team can take the CAA's best to the wire on a consistent basis, it leads me to believe The CAA is really just a bunch of "decent" teams with a lot of parity, and lacking GREAT teams. Of course this changes year to year but on this board it changes week to week. Towson went from being crap, to "scary" to crap. URI and UNH went from shoe i playoff contenders to marginal. Delaware from elite (even though unproven) to ow supposedly on the fringe. Nova has climbed a wall of worry all year. Albany I guess has delivered. Richmond goes from written off to possible CAA champs. Elon? William and Mary goes from top 5 to probably not even the first 5 out of the playoffs. I think an issue with The CAA could be that there has been little consistency among "good" teams- sure the same teams are usually decent, but albany may be the best this year and they were sub .500 last 2 years. Delaware may be the best and they got steamrolled against a top team in the playoffs. UNH is up/down. W&M same as UDEL and then this year look pedestrian. That does not mean the CAA sucks or anything but we seem to not have those same 2-3 teams that can be counted on year in and year out. Delaware would be the closest thing and even that has not been great. I go solely on the eye test and when I watch REAL top 10 teams and then I watch W&M, Elon, Nova and frankly Delaware I just see it as "different"...But again I am a CAA advocate not a hater just calling it like I see it. Perception is reality and I HATE that it is, but such is life. I hope I am wrong and The CAA gets someone to the Final 4 or even 8 this year and is competitive.

Yeah so I live in north jersey (Bergen catholic, St Joes, Don Bosco, Ramapo, Norther Highlands, etc etc) so those are the kids I know most about. I knew about Gallagher b/c my buddy's kid goes to Middletown South so he tells me and i watched a bit. Ironically, there are some people in the "shore" area (where MU resides) who think MU does a horrible job recruiting the area and that we focus too much on VA, MD, DE, etc etc.. But I will just say it is def NOT lack of talent from the NJ shore area that failed us 1st ad 0 at W&M 12 to win and then a missed Fg, or lack of NJ that stalled 4 times in Elon Red zone, or any number of the other close games that have cost us the playoffs this and last year. I am not sure what it is but it aint that. That is not meant towards you but towards the folks that think MU should be 70 NJ kids.

We beat #8 Hofstra a couple weeks ago - they are the highest ranked CAA Men's soccer team if any of you all sport CAA guys care. The CAA is not ballsy enough for Men's Ice Hockey.

I assume that visiting fans park and tailgate in the huge parking lot next to the Baseball Field and south of the stadium call the Main Commuter Lot? UNH will have a modest number of fans, mainly family members and friends of players, former players, a few local UNH Alumni. I've thought that this would be a very competitive game all season, no reason to change that assessment.

I assume that visiting fans park and tailgate in the huge parking lot next to the Baseball Field and south of the stadium call the Main Commuter Lot? UNH will have a modest number of fans, mainly family members and friends of players, former players, a few local UNH Alumni. I've thought that this would be a very competitive game all season, no reason to change that assessment.

Most MU people are in lot 25 which would be the smaller lot close to the Field hockey and softball fields. However it is usually a mix of both- Being this a noon start and not any special weekend it will be low attendance even for our standards. They have moved the "Doherty Deck" which is in stadium place that has food and drinks etc for "VIP's" inside to where they have it for Basketball games, which is actually much nicer, tons of TV's and overlooks both the Football field and basketball arena. Happy to take you in at the very least just to show you the place and have a beer or not a beer whatever- Your call, I will PM my cell and at the very least will say hello. My last post on the NH Board: " I hope the team wants to win this game as much as Monmouth likely will. I've thought this would be a close game all season. In addition to the FCS leading rusher, Jayden Shirden, unlike us, they also have a 235 lb power RB to back up their #1, Sone Ntoh (A Harvard Grad transfer). I was just taking a close look at Delaware. Are we sure they’re safely in?

A loss at Campbell this weekend, which won’t be an easy game, and all of a sudden they’re in a must-win situation against Nova to end the regular season. That game becomes a loser-goes-home situation, I think.

In fact, I’m honestly not so sure UD is definitely in if they were to beat Campbell and then lose to Nova. Their OOC did them little favors playing SFPA and Duquesne.

There are five teams currently at 5-1 in the CAA. UD lost to one (Elon) and haven’t played Albany or Richmond.

I think they will still sneak in with an 8-3 record (assuming loss to Nova), but they’ll have to sweat out selection Sunday.

A loss at Campbell this weekend, which won’t be an easy game, and all of a sudden they’re in a must-win situation against Nova to end the regular season. That game becomes a loser-goes-home situation, I think.

In fact, I’m honestly not so sure UD is definitely in if they were to beat Campbell and then lose to Nova. Their OOC did them little favors playing SFPA and Duquesne.

There are five teams currently at 5-1 in the CAA. UD lost to one (Elon) and haven’t played Albany or Richmond.

I think they will still sneak in with an 8-3 record (assuming loss to Nova), but they’ll have to sweat out selection Sunday.

Very reasonable assessment

Delaware needs to get healthy and if so, they will handle Campbell.

Zach Marker at QB would help big in my opinion but he’s got a shoulder injury, when Ryan O’Conner was injured, Marker looked really good vs Hampton and Towson

forgot to take a pic, but KPSUL is good people- as is his buddy who I spent less time with. Neither team played "well" but it was still an enjoyable game and needless to say another 1 possession loss for The Hawks. Decent amount of UNH people there. Was nice to meet someone from AGS, KPSUL is a solid dude..I can now peacefully watch the FCS play out and enjoy the playoffs as I know we just are not there yet.

Been a busy season for ole GT11 with real life. Ive looked in a few times during the season.

The 3rd weekend springs eternal for the boys from 302. Maybe this will be the season you can claim a win.

Nova is going to be a tough out. MUHAWKS will be living in a tent by the Windmill on Ocean Ave. if recent history (15 years or so) holds true.

Best chance fo the dirty filthy birds is to play this game in the spring (Blew Hens are 1-0 then).

I thank Mr. CHICKEN for his service. Were planes invented yet?

Carrib enjoy the game from under your palm tree. Henny send all my love to the gohens.net guys and I hope they all can stay awake as they will be missing their nap time.

I think we’re looking at a shootout type game, you definitely have some weapons led by WR Pringle and his FCS leading 27 yards per catch, a new face in Jersey City boy Jalen Sanchez has been great. Hayek still lurking but stats are down this year … should of stayed up in the financial district

Delaware has some big playmakers as well, Yarns, Harvin, Bermúdez, Wimberly and Marker all banged up status unknown though. We will need them to keep it close

11 am I think-- al the noon games were out at 10 am. if $ line is -140 or better I will stick to that, but anyway I am guessing -3.5 Hens - I will be on the road and unable to update. Peace- everyone enjoy.
