This is part of a plan to upgrade the infra, security and technology at these 18 stadiums, including the 2 football stadiums to be used in LA 2028 (Coliseum and Rose Bowl) and these 18 are possible venues for CFP games.

Wait, do we agree on something political?

Wild.

Franklin Field was included. Why not Harvard Stadium?

The two reps who announced this come from states that include a stadium in this list. Garret Graves of Louisiana and Mark Pocan of Wisconsin. Seems like some pork barrel legislation to me.

Only three non P5 schools on this list (Yale, Penn and SJSU) as well despite their being plenty of historic stadiums at smaller schools. I think these P5 programs can afford this themselves, judging by their new TV contract payouts.

Totally agree. And what the hell is Congress even getting involved. They can't find the time to pass a budget let alone worry about creaky old stadiums.

Other than the Stadiums being used for the Olympics, not sure why we need the Federal Tax Dollars involved.

And this is coming from a fan of one of the schools, Illinois. A stadium that my grandpa was on the student committee that raised the money to build the original stadium.
