Looks like a winless season for the Toreros is going to be reality. #bookit (stolen idea from POD Knows)

One man's hazing, is another's motivational technique. Drawing a line is opinion, not fact.

without knowing what happened, how can anyone know enough to pass judgement? The zero tolerance for hazing thing is something that I'm sure sounded great in the press release after that frat issue but where do you draw the line when you've established zero as your only acceptable thing? Does telling freshmen they need to carry bags off the field after practice count as "hazing"? Not letting freshmen stand on the school logo in the training room - gone?

There's obviously extreme hazing that's dangerous for players and also weird sexual ***** that has gone on at some schools that clearly crosses a line and should result in a harsh response. Otherwise, there's a whole bunch of stuff that actually is more in line with team building than hazing imo, but when you make "zero" your only acceptable goal there is no differentiating from criminal activity v benign. It's just goofy imo

Great work by Kamal Jenkins, furnishing the link to USD's own "alternatives to hazing." It's directed at the Greek system, but is applicable to everyone.

I am very disheartened to see the new head coach fall on his face like this. No excuses.

Exactly. Not to mention the difference between physical and mental requirements. Making a player run laps could be considered hazing, by some. Calling them a pet name could be considered hazing by some. They are hugely different than making them chug a fifth and hump a donkey.

Half of team to face some sort of penalties. USD opens with Cal Poly this weekend.

Do I change to Poly over San Diego in the Pick 'Em??? xchinscratchx Probably the only time it'll be a viable option, except maybe the NoCo game in October, but I may have picked the Bears to lose a different game by then.
